-The ideal time of the year to undertake a visit to a local olive oil factory is during the harvest. Depending on the year, this can take place from early October through early December.

-The province of Verona is the northernmost point in the world where it is possible to grow olive trees for oil production.

-The Valpolicella refers to the hilly area to the north of the city of Verona extending west towards the foothills of Mount Baldo looking over Lake Garda (Italy’s largest lake) and to the east stretching until the border with the territory of Soave. The red wine known as Valpolicella is typically made from three grape varieties: Corvina Veronese, Rondinella, and Molinara. Verona Fun Facts:

Verona is home to the 3rd largest amphitheatre in Italy. The ARENA, reminiscent of Rome’s Colosseum along with a bustling “centro” lined with coffee bars & restaurants, Piazzas & architecture that is sure to catch your eye is referred to by some as “Roma del Nord” …”The Rome of the North”. Verona was the backdrop to three of Shakespeare’s most popular plays. Most memorably Romeo & Juliet. You can visit Juliet’s famous balcony, her tombstone (“Tomba di Giulietta”) & “Casa di Romeo”, Romeo’s home.
