In occasione del Roadshow “Tre Bicchieri” del Gambero Rosso a Toronto, il Consorzio Oltrepò Pavese ha guidato insieme a Giuseppe Carrus una masterclass dedicata ai manager e ai professionisti di LCBO, il più importante buyer e distributore di vini e alcolici dell’Ontario.

Un momento di confronto e approfondimento pensato per raccontare l’identità di un territorio unico: la patria italiana del Pinot Nero e del blanc de noirs, dove da oltre 160 anni il metodo classico trova una delle sue espressioni più autentiche.

Tra degustazioni e dialogo con gli operatori del mercato canadese, l’Oltrepò Pavese ha portato la propria visione: qualità, vocazione territoriale e una nuova consapevolezza internazionale, rappresentata oggi anche dal progetto Classese, accanto alle altre eccellenze del territorio come Pinot Nero, Riesling e Buttafuoco.

L’iniziativa, realizzata grazie al supporto di Regione Lombardia, rappresenta un ulteriore passo nel percorso di valorizzazione del territorio sui mercati esteri e l’inizio di un dialogo sempre più stretto con le istituzioni e gli operatori dell’Ontario e del Canada.

On the occasion of the Gambero Rosso “Tre Bicchieri” Roadshow in Toronto, Consorzio Oltrepò Pavese, together with Giuseppe Carrus, led a masterclass dedicated to the managers and professionals of LCBO, Ontario’s leading buyer and distributor of wines and alcoholic beverages.

A moment of exchange and insight designed to tell the story of a unique territory: Italy’s home of Pinot Nero and blanc de noirs.

Through tastings and dialogue with Canadian market operators, Oltrepò Pavese shared its vision: quality, territorial vocation and a renewed international awareness, represented today also by the Classese project, alongside the area’s other excellences such as Pinot Nero, Riesling and Buttafuoco.

The initiative, carried out with the support of Regione Lombardia marks another step in the promotion of the territory on international markets and the beginning of an increasingly close dialogue with the institutions and operators of Ontario and Canada.

Il Classese protagonista a Vinitaly 2026: un incontro di storia e qualità 🍇✨

Durante la conferenza stampa al Vinitaly, abbiamo celebrato la lunga tradizione del Classese, il metodo classico da Pinot Nero che da oltre 160 anni racconta l’unicità del nostro territorio. Con la presenza dell’Assessore all’Agricoltura della Regione Lombardia, Alessandro Beduschi, l'Assessore regionale Elena Lucchini e il Vicepresidente del Senato Gian Marco Centinaio, abbiamo ripercorso le tappe che hanno reso l’Oltrepò Pavese la patria del blanc de noirs e del rosé de noirs.

Dai pionieri Gancia e Vistarino nel 1850, passando per la creazione dell'Associazione Produttori nel 1984 con Carlo Boatti, fino al riconoscimento della DOCG nel 2007, il Classese è oggi un simbolo di qualità e innovazione, testimoniato dalle 40 nuove etichette presentate quest'anno, che incarnano la vocazione dell'Oltrepò Pavese: Vocazione Pinot Nero.

During the press conference at Vinitaly, we celebrated the long-standing tradition of Classese, the classic method made from Pinot Noir that has been telling the unique story of our territory for over 160 years. La qualità si difende anche così: imparando a riconoscere i difetti del vino con precisione.

Da questa consapevolezza nasce il corso avanzato sui difetti del vino tenuto da Giuliano Boni di Enosofare, tra i maggiori esperti del tema, che ha coinvolto enologi e produttori del territorio in un momento di alta formazione e confronto tecnico.

L’obiettivo è stato affinare la capacità di riconoscere, già attraverso l’analisi sensoriale, i principali difetti del vino e approfondire le strategie più efficaci per prevenirli o correggerli.

Un percorso che rafforza competenze, attenzione e qualità, a beneficio di tutto il territorio vitivinicolo.

Quality is defended this way too: learning to identify wine defects with precision.

From this awareness comes the advanced course on wine defects, led by Giuliano Boni of Enosofare, one of the leading experts on the subject. The course brought together winemakers and producers from the region for an in-depth training and technical exchange.

The goal was to sharpen the ability to recognize the main wine defects through sensory analysis and to explore the most effective strategies for preventing or correcting them.

A journey that strengthens skills, attention, and quality, benefiting the entire wine-growing region.

SLOW WINE

WSET 2° Livello — dal 27 al 30 aprile con Enrico Donati di VENI VIDI VINI di Enrico Donati il Consorzio torna ad ospitare il corso WSET 2° Livello, preceduto (domenica 26 aprile) da una giornata dedicata all’inglese tecnico applicato al mondo del vino.
Un’occasione per iniziare il più riconosciuto percorso di certificazione nell’ambito della cultura vitivinicola a livello internazionale. Il corso è aperto a tutti (è prevista uno sconto per i soci del consorzio) ed è molto consigliato a chi opera a livello professionale nel mondo del vino, dalla cantina sino ai luoghi di somministrazione.
Le lezioni e l’esame finale (a risposta multipla, della durata di 1 ora) si terranno presso l’Aula sensoriale di Riccagioia (Torrazza Coste, PV), indicativamente dalle ore 9.00 alle ore 18.00, con una pausa di un’ora.

🇬🇧 WSET Level 2 —From April 27th to 30th, the Consortium will once again host the WSET Level 2 course, led by Enrico Donati of Veni Vidi Vini. This course will be preceded (on Sunday, April 26th) by a day dedicated to technical English applied to the world of wine.
An opportunity to begin the most internationally recognized certification program in the field of wine tasting. The course is open to all (a discount is available for consortium members) and is highly recommended for those working professionally in the wine world, from the winery to the HoReCa.
The lessons and the final exam (multiple choice, lasting 1 hour) will be held at the Riccagioia Sensory Classroom (Torrazza Coste, PV), approximately from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, with a one-hour break.
