Durante le ondate di calore anche l’uva può subire scottature, con danni alla qualità dei grappoli. Per questo, quando necessario, ricorriamo al caolino, una finissima argilla naturale che viene nebulizzata sulla vegetazione. Una volta asciutta forma una sottile patina bianca che riflette parte della radiazione solare, abbassando la temperatura della buccia degli acini e limitando i danni provocati dal caldo estremo. Non è un trattamento chimico, è semplicemente un aiuto temporaneo che la pioggia elimina naturalmente. Coltivare una vigna oggi significa anche adattarsi ad un clima che cambia, cercando di proteggere il frutto con strumenti rispettosi della natura.
During heat waves, grapes can suffer from sunburn, affecting the quality of the fruit. When necessary, we use kaolin, an ultra-fine natural clay that is gently sprayed onto the vine canopy. Once it dries, it forms a thin white film that reflects part of the sun’s radiation, helping to lower the temperature of the grape skins and reduce damage caused by extreme heat. This is not a chemical treatment. It is simply a temporary, natural aid that is washed away by rain. Growing vines today also means adapting to a changing climate, using nature-friendly solutions to protect the fruit while respecting the balance of the vineyard.
