Our SCOOP gardening club continues to blossom!

This week, there was some light weeding after some wondrous rain, a sit-down with tea and cake and labelling handmade signs by Jenny for the herb beds. The perfect way to spend the day, if you ask us.

New faces at SCOOP!

We're welcoming some new faces to the team! Annigna has been working with us over the last few months now, a longtime Scoop member bringing her personal shopping experience and creative flare to the produce display.

And more recently, we have Anders starting this week with his bright energy, a love for local produce and epic cheese wrapping skills 🧀

Let's give these two a warm welcome to the shop.

Local liquid goodness is back in stock 🍯

Our honey producers from all corners of the island are beginning to bring in this season's harvest. Pure, untreated raw local honey holds the most beneficial properties for antioxidants, digestive support and antibacterial properties.

We are happy to see the 1/2lb jars are back in stock too!

The SCOOP garden continues to grow and improve thanks to this fabulous team of women helping to make a difference.

Herbs from local growers Bats End Farm and Bonnie's Country Gardens have been planted to breathe life back into the garden beds and add sprigs of freshness to salads, curries, stews, ferments and dips the kitchen create.

Thank you again to the thoughtful efforts of our volunteers, we appreciate all that you do!

Jersey pears have arrived! 🍐

The team at Lomah Farm have been busy picking crates of pears - they might be the best thing about this season. Grown and picked on the island, these pears are juicy, sweet and brimming with flavour.

When you buy locally grown fruit from SCOOP, you know they have only been in contact with the hands picking and delivering them to your local independent shop. No sprays, gas atmosphere control, or waxing.

Make the most of the season's bounty and bake these pears into cakes, poach in your morning oats, toss in a fresh salad, or eat fresh on its own.

Thanks to a wonderful team of volunteers, the front of the shop has had a much needed face lift 🌼

Our raised garden beds are being restored to their former glory with the help of these lovely ladies. Over the following months they will be replanting the beds with perennial herbs and flowers for the pollinators and our kitchen.

Unfortunately the hot sun has meant our poor plants have been scorched (like many), and we are looking to replace them in the coming months. We are searching for hardy/perennial herbs and non-toxic flowers - if you have any to re-home, we would gladly accept in exchange for one of Anne's lovely cakes!
