Today we are all a little sad to say...it's Goodbye from Gorey😢
I can't believe it has been NINE years, but our visa has now expired so the time has come to call time on Dunell's in Gorey. We have enjoyed meeting and serving the lovely people of the East from the early days with Amar, now running Vinifera, his own coffee & wine bar in town, to the latest curator, our son Oliver, who has really moved the shop to a different level over the past few years making this decision even harder to make.
However, in speaking with many of you, we have come to realise that those who work in town are happy to visit Erik in our Hill Street shop and others are happy to drive out to our main shop at Beaumont to benefit from our entire range of products and services and after all it is only 6 miles.....and of course, many of you prefer to order on our website and benefit from our 6-day-a-week delivery service. We hope you feel we still have you covered.
Tomorrow, Saturday 26th October, will be our last day and we will spend next week clearing everything out. Jane and I will be at Gorey toward the end of the day on Saturday. Whilst it does not feel like a celebration we will be opening a few bottles to enjoy with Oliver and any of you who wish to pop along and say goodbye before we close the door for the final time at 6pm.
