Another Day in My Jamaican Story
Today marks a meaningful turning point for Tafara.
After a long stretch of challenges and frustration—especially navigating those unforgettable JPS moments filled with "what next" laughter and tears - WE'VE OFFICIALLY TRANSITIONED TO A FULLY OFF GRID SUSTAINABLE ORGANIC FARM ( yes I'm yelling). YES… we broke up with JPS. It’s not us, it’s them, like worst relationship ever, in fact consider this a public service hazard warning. DO NOT DATE 😄
With a robust solar system now installed, Tafara is running on independent, reliable power—and for the first time in 6 months, everything just… works. No guesswork, no sudden surprises, no spasmodic on again off again relationship with fans, no more “light gone again, but left me hanging with a giant bill?” moments.
Beyond the laughs, this is a big step forward. It gives us a solid foundation for growth, resilience, and long-term sustainability, while keeping us aligned with what we set out to build.
We’re especially grateful for what this means for our ongoing Melissa recovery efforts. Having consistent current and connectivity makes a real difference—it allows us to focus on progress instead of disruption.
We are giddy with excitement for the progress—and yes, very happy to kick that JPS light bill drama to the curb. 😄
