この日は、東京から子どもたちと、北軽井沢の畑でお世話になっている皆さんのご家族が収穫のお手伝いに来てくれました。
長雨の影響もあり、今年のメルローは一房ずつ丁寧に確認しながらの収穫。傷んだ実を取り除く選果まで、みんなで黙々と進めました。

そんな中、子どもたちは収穫に飽きて、師匠の虫取り網を借りて、葡萄を食べに来るオオスズメバチなど捕まえて師匠の虫瓶へ。大人たちよりずっと逞しい……！

そしてメルローの次は、山ソーヴィニオンとアルバリーニョへ。
こちらは驚くほど状態が良く、収穫もぐっとスムーズに。メルロー担当だった皆さん、一番大変なところを引き当ててしまいました😂 本当にありがとうございました！

今日からは状態の良いアルバリーニョとプチ・マンサンの収穫です〜。

収穫はまだまだ続きます。お手伝い引き続きありがとうございます！

さて、前日に収穫したメルローは、選果を終えて約250kgになりました！

今年は長雨が続き、収穫のタイミングも少し遅くなってしまったので、選果がなかなか大変です。

傷んだ実や状態の良くない粒を一つひとつ取り除いて、ワインにする葡萄だけを残していく地道な作業。

お手伝いに来てくださった皆さんが、本当に真面目に黙々と選果してくださり、とても助かりました。ありがとうございます！

……と、人間たちがそんな真面目に選果している間に事件発生。

キッチンに置いてあったゆで卵3個がMISSING。

「犯犬は誰だ？！ゴラァ！！」

と怒ったところ、そそくさと逃げていったのはVickyとBeth。

……どちらも怪しい。

ご近所の松山さんの卵直売所で、規格外だけど大きくて立派な卵をたくさん格安で譲っていただいたので、卵はまだある。

あるけど。

3個盗られたのは悔しい。

メルロー250kgを守り抜いた人間たちと、ゆで卵3個を守れなかった葡萄色エステイトでした。

そして今年の収穫、どうやら10月の三連休まで続きそうです。

まだまだ畑には収穫を待っている葡萄たちがたくさん。

ということで、収穫＆選果のお手伝い、モトム！！！

Anyway, the Merlot we harvested the day before came to about 250 kg after sorting!

With all the prolonged rain this year and our harvest timing getting pushed back, sorting the grapes has been quite a challenge.

We carefully go through each bunch, removing damaged or unhealthy berries one by one and keeping only the grapes we want to turn into wine.

Everyone who came to help worked incredibly hard and patiently through the sorting. We really could not have done it without them. Thank you!

収穫真っ只中の葡萄色エステイトに、みんなが畑仕事を手伝いに来てくれました！

この日のメインはメルローの収穫。

時々小雨が降ってきて、「お願いだから本降りにならないで〜」と空を気にしながらの収穫でしたが、みんなが来てくれて本当に助かりました。

普段はそれぞれ違う仕事をして、違う場所で暮らしている人たちが、葡萄畑に集まって、一緒に葡萄を摘む。
自家用パイロット2名！からスポーツ優良児、百人一首プロ、ロボット営業、ハンター数名など。

スズメバチをハサミで真っ二つにしたりとなかなかアドレナリンも出ていた収穫でした。

年齢も仕事もバックグラウンドも違う人たちが、葡萄をきっかけに自然と混ざっていくのも、収穫の楽しいところだなと思います。
一房ずつ確認しながら、今年のワインになる葡萄を選んでいきます。

台風が来る前に、少しでも多くの葡萄を畑から連れて帰らなくてはっ！！！！

Hi, it’s Shanks, Max, and Rock.

Max is Beth’s younger brother and the youngest of the ten siblings. Rock is the sixth-born and one of Beth’s older brothers, while Beth is number eight.

They all came out to help us at Ebiiro Estate right in the middle of our busiest harvest season!

The main mission of the day was harvesting Merlot.

We had a few light showers along the way, so we kept looking up at the sky thinking, “Please, please do not turn into proper rain…” Having everyone there to help really made a huge difference.

One of the things we love about harvest is seeing people who normally have completely different jobs and lives come together in the vineyard and pick grapes side by side.

Our crew included two private pilots, an all-around sports star, a competitive Hyakunin Isshu karuta player, a robotics salesperson, and several hunters.

There was even a moment when someone cut a hornet clean in half with pruning shears, so there was definitely a little extra adrenaline involved in this harvest.

Different ages, different professions, different backgrounds—and somehow grapes bring everyone together naturally. That is one of our favorite things about harvest season.

We check every bunch carefully, selecting the grapes that will eventually become this year’s wine.

And with a typhoon on the way, we need to get as many grapes out of the vineyard as possible!!!!

今週末も、収穫ツアーや体験の皆さんが葡萄色エステイトに来てくださいました！

今年は本当にたくさんの葡萄が実っていて、皆さんにお手伝いいただきながら少しずつ収穫を進め、シャルドネだけでここまで累計1トン超え。

すごい！と思ったのも束の間。

まだ約3トンあります。

ということで、葡萄色エステイト、収穫仲間を大募集します。

場所は茨城県行方市。

平日に動ける方、大歓迎。
そしてシルバーウィークも収穫します！

葡萄を摘んで、一房ずつ状態を見ながら選果して、自分たちの手でバケツをいっぱいにしていく。

We have officially harvested over ONE TON of Chardonnay!
But… we still have about THREE TONS waiting for us in the vineyard.

This weekend, we welcomed more guests joining our harvest tours and experiences at Ebiiro Estate.

Thanks to everyone who has been helping us, we have now harvested more than 1,000 kg of Chardonnay this season.

Amazing!

And then we looked at what is still out there…

About 3,000 kg to go.

So, we are looking for more harvest helpers!

We are located in Namegata City, Ibaraki. We especially welcome anyone who can join us on weekdays, and we will also be harvesting during Silver Week.

You will pick the grapes, check and sort each bunch, and slowly watch your bucket fill with grapes that will eventually become wine.

No experience is needed.

No Japanese? No problem. English speakers are very welcome too!
We will show you what to do in English, so if you are living in or visiting Japan and would like to experience a Japanese grape harvest, come and join us.

If you love wine, want to experience a vineyard, enjoy working outdoors, or simply want to give Ebiiro Estate a hand, we would love to have you.

Hi, 尻尾がピコピコ動くのが可愛いヴィッキーです。

今週末は雨との競争でした。土曜日は大雨が来る前に、朝から6名で一気にココ畑を全部収穫！シャルドネが約300kg採れました！

今回も、毎年来てくださっている、葡萄色エステイトの薪ストーブの管理をお願いしている親子ペアがお手伝いに来てくれました。

「毎年、どんどん葡萄の量が増えていくのを見るのが楽しい」

と言ってくださったのが、とても嬉しかったです。最初の頃から畑を見てくれている方だからこそ、私たちとはまた違った目線で、葡萄色エステイトが少しずつ育っていく姿を見てくれているんだなぁと。

そして写真を見てお気づきでしょうか。全員、葡萄色エステイトTシャツ。

実はこれ、販売用ではなく、コンスタントに畑仕事をお手伝いしてくださっている方々へ、感謝を込めてお渡ししているものです。

畑は私たちだけでは作れません。剪定して、草を刈って、枝を整えて、暑い夏には葡萄を守って、そして最後はみんなで収穫する。

毎年少しずつ葡萄の量が増えているように、葡萄色エステイトを一緒に育ててくれる仲間も少しずつ増えています。

This weekend was a race against the rain. On Saturday, before the heavy rain arrived, six of us started early and harvested the entire Coco vineyard in one go! We brought in an amazing approximately 300 kg of Chardonnay.

Once again, a father-and-son team who come every year—and also take care of the wood-burning stove at Ebiiro Estate—came to help us with the harvest.

They told us,

“It’s so much fun seeing the amount of grapes increase year after year.”

That made us incredibly happy. They have been watching the vineyard since our early days, so it feels special knowing that they are seeing Ebiiro Estate grow little by little from a perspective different from our own.

Hi, ジョリーです。高いところから失礼します。収穫には参加してませんが、カナダから監督はしています。

2026年、いよいよ初収穫が始まりました！
今年最初の収穫は、ノビルのシャルドネから。
午前中は7名で東側の最長列を収穫して 106kg。
午後は6名で東側2列目＆西側1〜2列目を収穫して、こちらもまさかの 106kg。

初日の収穫量は合計 212kg！

そして、まだまだあります。
ノビル区画全体では、今年は500kg超えの収穫を見込んでます。
春に芽が出て、花が咲いて、暑い夏を越えて。鳥や動物、病害虫から守ってきた葡萄が、ようやく収穫の日を迎えました。

一年かけて育てても、収穫するのはあっという間。
だからこそ、この瞬間は毎年やっぱり嬉しいです。

朝からお手伝いいただいた皆さん、本当にありがとうございました！

明日もノビルの収穫は続きます。

2026 Vintage、ここからスタートです。

9月は毎週土日の午前中 8:00〜11:00 に収穫予定です。

Hi, it’s Jolie. Excuse me for looking down on everyone from up here. I am not actually helping with the harvest, but I am supervising from Canada.

Our 2026 harvest has officially begun!

We started this year with Chardonnay from our Nobiru vineyard.

In the morning, seven people harvested the longest row on the east side and brought in 106 kg.
In the afternoon, six people moved on to the second row on the east side and rows one and two on the west side—and somehow harvested exactly another 106 kg.

That brings our first day’s total to 212 kg!

And there is still plenty more to come.

We are expecting the entire Nobiru block to yield more than 500 kg this year.

The vines budded in spring, flowered, made it through the scorching summer, and were protected from birds, wildlife, pests, and disease along the way. Now, after all that work, the grapes have finally reached harvest.

We spend an entire year growing them, yet the harvest itself is over in the blink of an eye.

Maybe that is why this moment feels so special every single year.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and helped us from early in the morning!

The Nobiru harvest continues tomorrow.

Throughout September, we plan to harvest every Saturday and Sunday morning from 8:00–11:00 a.m.

しかし畑では食肉目による、熟れてきたシャルドネ が被害を受けた模様です。
足跡は長い爪痕はないので、アライグマではないし、タにしては足跡が違うし、器用なところや葡萄の皮を綺麗に吐き出しているのを見るとハクビシン…しかも足跡も5本の指でした。
丁寧に皮を吐き出して食べているのも特徴ですね。

…箱罠の…出番でしょうか？

Hi, it’s another episode of “Who’s the guilty dog?” — this time, someone has pulled all the stuffing out of a cushion.

But out in the vineyard, it looks like our ripening Chardonnay has fallen victim to a different member of the order Carnivora.

The tracks don’t show the long claw marks we’d expect from a raccoon, and they don’t look quite right for a raccoon dog either. Judging by how dexterously the grapes were eaten — with the skins neatly spat out — our prime suspect is a masked palm civet. And sure enough, the footprints had five toes.

Hi, Vickyです。ママであるマダム・カールが綿出ししたのです。私は無実です！
葡萄もだんだんとマダム・カールのようにムッチムチの豊満なボディなのが出てきました。

まだ気は抜けないのですが、収穫が今までにない程に大忙しになる見込みです！

…ということで、暑くならない早朝6時半ぐらいから収穫スタートして、お昼には撤収、というスケジュールで、フラッときてくださる方は是非DMお待ちしてます！

We still can’t let our guard down just yet, but it looks like this year’s harvest is going to be busier than ever before!

So, we’re planning to start harvesting at around 6:30 a.m., before it gets too hot, and wrap things up by lunchtime.
