We’re not joking when we say that, considering how much tea we drink, we’re probably 70% tea at this point 🍵

Which tea could you easily transform into to this track?

Too hard to choose? That’s where our Shop highlight comes in handy 👉🏼👈🏼

Planning your autumn trip to Japan in advance? 🍂

We are too! And we’ve prepared a reason to spend a whole day in the pastoral tea town of Wazuka

Our Hand Picking & Hand Rolling Tea Event is happening on September 26, bringing together:

• an introduction to the world of handcrafted Japanese tea

• a trip to the tea fields to pick tea surrounded by fellow tea enthusiasts

• a hands-on workshop led by the president of the local association dedicated to preserving the tradition of hand-rolled tea

And there’s more: you’ll get to meet our Obubu team, enjoy a Japanese lunch together and, of course, drink a looooot of tea

Time to book your spot, because how often do you get the chance to make your own tea surrounded by the changing colors of Japanese autumn? 🍁

Who’s your sweet Valentine this year? 💕

Ours might just be Sakura Sencha. We even dressed up in matching pink T-shirts for the occasion 🌸

As we step into pre-harvest mode — farmer style — our motto “Trimming, Shading, Weeding: More Than Harvesting” is getting us fully hyped for the tea season ahead. The fields may still look quiet, but there’s a lot of love going into every leaf already❣️

While Tenku is still chilling (literally) under a blanket of snow — real winter wonderland vibes ❄️ — sakura season is just around the corner. To gently invite spring a little closer, we brewed a special tea: Natural Spring Sencha, blended with wild sakura leaves and blossoms. 🍵

The result? A cup bursting with freshness and umami, wrapped in a soft, floral aroma that feels like the very first warm breeze of the year.

🌸 Tea: Natural Sakura Sencha
👕 Apparel: Akky Pink Obubu T-Shirt

Signature Specialty Tea Drinks by Mariah

Kissaten describes a type of cafe here in Japan, and while it’s become more synonymous with small coffee shops in the past few decades, Mariah is referencing the word’s origin as a “tea drinking house.” As Obubu looks to the future and considers developing a kissaten of our own, she wanted to combine my passion for specialty drink development with what she learned and tasted while here at Obubu.
