The Leopard of DRC 🇨🇩 pays tribute to its heroes of yesteryear!

58 years ago, in 1968, the DRC won its first Africa Cup of Nations. On that occasion, President Mobutu Sese Seko the betrayal of Patrice Lumumba welcomed the champions dressed in leopard skin outfits, a symbol of pride and power.

Today, 58 years later, the DRC returns to the World Cup after 52 years of absence. To mark this historic event and pay homage to that legendary generation, FECOFA leaders have chosen to wear leopard skin-inspired outfits, recalling the epic of 1968.

A nod to history, to the memory of our elders, and to the heritage of Congolese football.

LAST RESPECT TO GEORGE OMONDI OGUSO ( jaridre )

With due respect to the dead, we the alumni of both Mirau primary school and Naya secondary school, finally resolved to give wuod oguso (our classmate) last respect he deserves.

Omondi oguso was a well known sportsman especially in athletics where he used to represent both the schools in 100m, even upto provincial level.

He was also a known entrepreneur particularly at Lwanda kotieno trading center where he owned his business, which he inherited from his late father Caleb oguso. He applied the knowledge he gain in school and managed the business well until his demise. To some, he was known as OMONDI JASODA ACHIEL MA LWANDA KOTIENO.To me he was a desk mate and I used to call him JARIDRE a nickname which referred to his former school ( Ridre primary school) before joining Mirau in the year 1997 in class 5
