From planning and ex*****on to the post-hackathon journey, we gained valuable insights into what it truly takes to build hashtag innovation platforms within the hashtag ecosystem.
As an committed to accelerating the growth of , we are sharing a few key lessons and takeaways that could help other organizations design more meaningful, inclusive, and impact-driven hackathons.
1. Make sure you select the right innovators, and create a baseline survey that will guide you on how to find the right innovators. The innovators decide if the hackathon will be successful or not.
2. Get intentional : They play a huge role in guiding the tech innovators. The mentors should be aligned with the objectives and goals of the Hackathon.
3. Agri-tech needs storytelling too: One key learning was that agri-tech innovation is not only about technology, it is also about how you present your solution. The way solutions are packaged, branded, and communicated determines whether stakeholders, investors, and users will pay attention.
4. Agritech Innovation already exists; young people just need platforms; what came out clearly was that many young innovators already have practical solutions for challenges affecting agriculture and food systems. What is often missing is structured platforms that allow ideas to be tested, refined, and seen.
5. Hackathons Should Not End After DemoDay: One of the biggest gaps in many innovation programs is the lack of continuity. Participants need: post hackathon incubation, Pilot opportunities, Investor linkage and much more
