Day 2 of my research on optimizing chicken rearing for efficiency and cost-effectiveness:
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to meet with an experienced farmer who has been in the poultry farming business for 35 years. As part of my quest to gather insights from various farmers, I plan to visit more than 20 poultry farmers to learn the most effective methods.
During my discussion with the farmer, he shared a valuable secret which I would like to verify with you. According to him, the optimal approach to rearing chickens for commercial purposes involves selecting the best hybrid breeds and feeding them with layers mash once they reach maturity. Additionally, he suggested allowing these hybrid breeds to mate with Kienyeji chickens, as this combination supposedly results in fast growth and a high egg production rate of approximately 80%.
I would greatly appreciate your opinion on this matter. Please let me know if I should continue sharing updates on my research.
