Weaning piglets.
This is the most challenging stage for piglets. A well prepared group will have a smooth weaning process. High quality creep feed is required to prepare them for solid feeds diet during lactation period. They should be able to eat about 500gr of feeds at weaning. Be in touch with your vet incase of diarrhea.

When you are dealing with livestock there are no guarantees. Some don't make it to market weight, some end up dead. Some sows will give you large litters but only wean a few and many other challenges including diseases, feeds etc. You have to stay long enough to handle this challenges

Bio security should be a lifestyle in your farm to prevent diseases from spreading, entering or leaving your farm. Basic biosecurity farm include
1. Footbath at the entrance of the farm
2. Disinfecting pens between batches
3. Restricted entry to the farm ie only those who meets your biosecurity standards
4. Quarantine for new animals entering the farm till proven disease free.
5. Avoid sharing boars, instead use A.I if you don't have a boar.

Despite having all the pillars of pig farming, the stock man remains one of the most important part of the farm. They should be well trained to perform daily farm chores, checking well being of animals and ensure all farm equipment are in good working condition.
Invest in properly training them.
