After selling the previous flock, James stood at the entrance of the empty broiler house, knowing that preparation would determine the success of the next batch. He began by removing all old litter and thoroughly cleaning the floor, feeders, drinkers, and walls. Every corner was washed and disinfected to eliminate harmful germs that could affect the new chicks.
Once the house was dry, James spread fresh wood shavings evenly across the floor and arranged the feeders and drinkers in their proper positions. He checked the water lines, repaired damaged equipment, and ensured there would be enough clean water and quality starter feed for the chicks.
A day before the chicks arrived, he switched on the heating system and monitored the temperature carefully. The brooder area was warm and comfortable, and the house had proper ventilation without drafts. Satisfied that everything was ready, James waited eagerly for the arrival of the new bunch of chicks, confident that good preparation would give them the best start and lead to a healthy and profitable flock.
