As a baker, we keep records of our clients’ orders.
For the past 4 years, I’ve been baking for Aziel. All I normally do is ask for the design a few days before the birthday, and we’re good to go.
So this year, I knew his birthday was on the 7th. Naturally, I assumed the celebration would be on Sunday the 6th.
Mimi huyoooo… na cake! 😂
I got the design, baked the cake, packaged it nicely and around 4:00 pm, I showed up for delivery.
Guess what?
The birthday boy is EXCITED to see his cake. 🎂🥳
On the other side, Mum is looking at me like…
“Cake? Which cake?” 😂
She was actually ready to PAY for a cake on the 13th, when they are having the actual birthday bash! 🤦🏽‍♀️
Meanwhile, the boys had already seen the cake.
Cake ikakatwa.
Boys wakakula.
Mission accomplished. 😂
Now the big question:
WHO PAYS FOR THE CAKE?
Answer:
JOY.
Joy pays for her excellent planning.
Joy pays for her assumptions.
Joy pays for being a baker who was too prepared. 😂😂😂
Lesson learnt: Never assume a birthday celebration date.
ASK. CONFIRM. THEN BAKE! 😭🎂
