Ramadhan is drawing near 🌙

A season of quiet reflection, renewed faith, and meaningful connection is almost upon us. It’s a time when days feel more intentional, hearts feel lighter, and simple moments with family and community mean so much more.

As we prepare to welcome this special month, homes begin to slow down, routines begin to change, and a sense of peace gently settles in. It’s in the shared prayers, the laughter around the table, the acts of kindness, and the togetherness that make Ramadhan truly special.

May this approaching season bring warmth into every home, strengthen bonds, and remind us of what truly matters...gratitude, patience, generosity, and unity.

Getting ready for the moments that fill our hearts, not just our days.

International Day of Clean Energy: Powering Our Future with the Sun

As the world marks the International Day of Clean Energy, we at Spiceworld Ltd are proud to celebrate a major step in our sustainability journey: 90% of our plant operations are now powered by solar energy.

This transition to clean, renewable power reflects our commitment to climate-smart agribusiness and responsible production. By harnessing the sun, we are significantly reducing our carbon footprint, lowering reliance on fossil fuels, and building a more resilient and cost-efficient processing system that supports farmers, markets, and communities across our value chains.

Clean energy is not just about electricity- it is about safeguarding the future of food systems, protecting natural resources, and ensuring sustainable growth for generations to come. Our investment in solar power demonstrates that environmental stewardship and agribusiness competitiveness can go hand in hand.

As we continue to scale our operations, we remain focused on solutions that protect the planet while delivering high-quality, traceable, and responsibly processed products.

On this International Day of Clean Energy, we reaffirm our dedication to innovation, sustainability, and a greener tomorrow.

Butterfly Chick Peas with Potatoes Recipe

Serves: 4
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 35–40 minutes

Ingredients

1 cup Butterfly Chick Peas

2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 tomatoes, blended or finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ginger, grated

2 tablespoons cooking oil

1 teaspoon Zanzibar cumin seeds

1 teaspoon Zanzibar curry powder

½ teaspoon Zanzibar turmeric

1 teaspoon Zanzibar paprika or chili powder (optional)

Salt to taste

2 cups water or vegetable stock

Fresh coriander for garnish

Method

1. Rinse the Butterfly Chick Peas thoroughly and soak them overnight in plenty of water.

2. Drain, then boil in fresh water for 25–30 minutes until tender. Set aside.

3. Heat oil in a pot over medium heat. Add Zanzibar cumin seeds and let them crackle. Add onions and sauté until golden.

4. Add garlic and ginger, stir for 1 minute. Add tomatoes and cook until the mixture thickens and oil starts to separate.

5. Stir in Zanzibar curry powder, turmeric, paprika, and salt. Add potatoes and mix well to coat them with the masala.

6. Add the cooked chick peas and water or stock. Cover and simmer for 15–20 minutes until potatoes are soft and the sauce thickens.

Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.

Pro Tip

To cook Butterfly chick peas faster and achieve a softer texture, always soak Butterfly Chick Peas overnight. This reduces cooking time and improves digestion.
