Kingโ€™s Day is a national occasion held annually to celebrate the birthday of King Willem Alexander โ€“ the Dutch Head of State. Last Thursday, KWAL was honoured to be part of Kingโ€™s Day Commemoration, hosted by Embassy of the Netherlands in Kenya.

Team KWAL joined family and friends in laying to rest our late Chair Kuria Muchiru yesterday. Kuria was an exceptional leader with a genuine interest in people and constantly reminded us to maintain our humanity, while bringing a fatherly wisdom in his interactions with staff.

His vision drove us close to our purpose, and his commitment and passion will live forever in our hearts. Kuriaโ€™s memory continues to light the paths for the many he guided and inspired across his lifetime.

Kenya has lost a remarkable leader, but even more importantly, it has lost a fundamentally good man. The KWAL and Heineken Beverages family extends its deepest condolences to the Muchiru family.

We continue to celebrate the life of our Chairman, Kuria Muchiru, whose memory continues to light the paths of those he guided and inspired every day.
