Mango Chilli Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 ripe mangoes (peeled and sliced)
- 2 medium tomatoes (diced)
- 1 green bell pepper (chopped)
- 1 medium red onion (chopped)
- 4–5 garlic cloves (peeled)
- 2–3 fresh red chillies (adjust to heat preference)
- 1 tbsp vinegar (white or apple cider)
- 1 tsp sugar (optional, balances acidity)
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ cup water (adjust for consistency)
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Prep the Ingredients
- Dice mangoes, tomatoes, onion, bell pepper, garlic, and chillies into medium chunks.
Sauté for Depth
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
- Add onion, garlic, and chillies. Sauté until fragrant and slightly caramelized.
- Add tomatoes and bell pepper. Cook until softened and juices release.
Simmer mango
- Add mango slices and a splash of water.
- Let everything simmer for 5–7 minutes until mango softens.
Blend Smooth
- Transfer the mixture to a blender (or use an immersion blender).
- Blend until smooth and silky. Adjust thickness with water if needed.
Season & Balance
- Stir in vinegar or lemon, sugar (if using), salt, and black pepper.
- Taste and adjust seasoning, more chilli for heat, more mango for sweetness.
Store
- Pour into sterilized glass jars or bottles.
- Let cool, then refrigerate. Keeps for up to 2 weeks.
Serving Ideas
- Drizzle over grilled chicken or fish.
- Use as a dip for samosas or fries.
- Mix into stir-fries for a sweet-spicy kick.
