🐟 A Successful Aquaculture Training! 🐟

Today, we had a very insightful and successful aquaculture training through the Aquarech Project, supported by Mastercard Foundation Mastercard

The training covered key areas including financial management, record keeping, leadership and management, Business Development Skills (BDS), value addition, and product aggregation.

We sincerely appreciate INUKA CBO for sending Lyne to facilitate the training. Your support and contribution made the session a great success.

It was a valuable learning opportunity for aquaculture farmers and entrepreneurs to strengthen their knowledge, improve their businesses, and create more value within the fish value chain.

Together, we learn, grow, and build a stronger aquaculture sector!

TUNZA PROJECT TRAINING UPDATE

Yesterday, our team took part in an engaging training session under the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) TUNZA Project, where we explored Agro-Ecosystem Analysis (AESA) and the procedures to follow when assessing our farms under Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles.

The session helped us understand how to carefully observe and assess our farms, identify pests and beneficial organisms, monitor crop health, and make informed decisions for sustainable crop management.

At Green Flame CBO, we believe that knowledge, practical skills and climate-smart farming practices are key to building resilient and sustainable food systems.

Today, Green Flame CBO held its members' meeting where we reviewed key development agendas, including partnership opportunities, reporting, and organizational growth.

A major highlight of the meeting was the review of the curriculum that will guide the implementation of the Tunza Project throughout the year. This session helped strengthen our shared understanding of the program and our commitment to delivering meaningful impact in our communities.

We appreciate the active participation of our members and look forward to putting the lessons and plans into action.

Today we successfully held our Week 3 session under the TUNZA project focusing on Formalization & Commitment. The meeting brought together members and stakeholders to strengthen teamwork, clarify group responsibilities, and enhance accountability as we prepare for the next phase of implementation.
We also discussed leadership roles, host team coordination, and readiness for establishing the demonstration plot. The engagement showed strong commitment from members towards learning, collaboration, and sustainable community development.
Green Flame CBO appreciates all members for their active participation and dedication towards building a stronger and impactful farmer learning group.

WELCOME TO AFRICA
Where agricultural officers retire while hunger continues to work full-time.
An agricultural officer spends 30–40 years building knowledge in farming, food systems and rural development. They retire and walk away while food insecurity still exists.
Hunger does not retire.
Poor farming systems do not retire.
Food insecurity does not retire.
Africa cannot afford to lose agricultural knowledge at retirement.
Retired agricultural professionals should become:
Mentors
Consultants
Innovators
Community leaders
Helping the next generation feed the continent.
Africa does not only need more agricultural graduates.
Africa needs continuity and mentorship.
Food security is not a government job.
It is a generational responsibility.
Food security is not a career.
It is a lifelong responsibility.

GREEN FLAME was honored to participate in today’s Development in Gardening (DIG) event at the Chief’s Camp in Ndhiwa Town, where farmers showcased the preparation and cooking of Indigenous African Leafy Vegetables. 🌱
We had the opportunity to promote clean cooking energy solutions and demonstrate how clean, affordable, and reliable cooking Jikos support healthier cooking, save time and money, and protect the environment. 🔥
Together, we continue promoting healthy communities, sustainable agriculture, and climate-friendly solutions.

Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)
Today, we successfully held our Week 2 meeting under the –TUNZA Project focusing on Governance & Learning Direction.
During the meeting, all planned key activities were conducted successfully, including:
1.Review and refinement of group by-laws
2.Levelling of members’ expectations
3.Setting of FFS norms on attendance, participation, and leadership roles
4.Identification of learning needs among members
5.Selection of study/learning areas aligned with the project value chains

As a result, the following milestones were achieved:

•Documented by-laws and FFS norms established
•Agreed enterprise/study focus identified
•Clear group expectations and learning direction set

We appreciate all members for their active participation and commitment towards the successful implementation of the TUNZA Project. Together, we continue building a stronger, informed, and organized farmer learning group.
