If you have walked around the farm lately, you probably noticed our colorful, hand-painted educational signs. We use these as interactive teaching tools for the school groups that visit us throughout the week. By illustrating complex environmental topics in a fun, digestible way students learn about bees, vermicomposting, and biogas fuel!

Turning waste into walls! 🌍 during school visits and team-building days, we facilitate an eco-brick activity and teach you to recycle plastic bottles. Instead of letting plastic pollute, we pack these clean containers tight with clean, dry plastic waste. Then, the real magic happens on the farm. We mix them with traditional cob—a natural blend of earth, sand, and straw—to build sturdy, sustainable structures.

We also pack them with nutrient-rich compost and transform them into vertical planters, bringing new life and green spaces to the farm. 🌱 It is amazing what happens when we come together for the planet. Contact us to coordinate team building days and school trips!

A quick recap from this past weekend's permaculture course taught by James Kagwe. We didn’t just learn how to grow food; we learned how to listen to the Earth and co-create with nature. Some key takeaways:

🪱 Earth Care, People Care, & Fair Share: A commitment to leaving this planet better for future generations than we found it.

🍁 Matriarchal Wisdom: Honoring the indigenous traditions of seed-saving. Just as grandmothers historically kept seeds safe in their kitchens, we must preserve seeds for the future.

🌿 Soil is the Soul: Pests and plant diseases aren't just nuisances—they are the Earth telling us our soil health needs healing. Fix the soil, fix the plant.

Stay tuned for more workshops this month!
