Lamprais was gifted to the Sri Lankan food lexicon by the Dutch Burghers, a small group of European-origin settlers who have called the island nation home since the 16th century.Aunty Chit’s who learnt the culinary art of making Lamprais from her Dutch Burgher Sister In Law has been making Lamprais for more than three decades and is an expert in preparing authentic Lamprais.
