Fellow citizens of District #1, Montserrado County, Republic of Liberia,
Our district deserves strong leadership, commitment, and visible development. Unfortunately, many of us have grown increasingly concerned about the performance of Hon. Rugie Barry. As citizens who care deeply about the future of our communities, it is important that we speak openly and honestly about the challenges we are facing.
For several years, the people of District #1 have placed their trust and confidence in Hon. Rugie Barry to represent our voices in government and to work diligently for the progress of our district. Leadership is not just about holding a title; it is about responsibility, accountability, and delivering meaningful results for the people who elected you. Sadly, many residents believe that our district has not received the level of development, attention, and representation that we expected.
Across our communities, we continue to see problems that remain unresolved. Roads are still in poor condition, youth unemployment remains high, schools and health facilities need improvement, and many neighborhoods lack the basic services that citizens should have access to. These issues affect our daily lives, our children’s futures, and the growth of our district. As citizens, we cannot continue to ignore these concerns.
It is not wrong for citizens to demand better from their leaders. Democracy gives the people the right to question their representatives and to hold them accountable for their actions. When leaders fail to meet the expectations of the people, it becomes necessary for citizens to speak up in a respectful but firm manner. Our voices matter, and collective action is one of the strongest tools that communities have to push for change.
We are therefore calling on all citizens of District #1 to begin taking our civic responsibilities seriously. Let us organize ourselves peacefully and responsibly. Let us attend community meetings
