Recipe development for upcoming retreat treats! These smell incredible - they are brown butter & date mini muffins.

I have made them with half flour and half oats and with absolutely no refined sugar but with date syrup instead for sweetness 🥰

I am thinking these would make delicious little after lunch snacks or a wee afternoon pick me up with a cuppa?

I have been enjoying hosting at home so much more since I let go of the idea that everything had to be perfect.

Chances are, if you are inviting someone round for tea, then you're mates - they know you live in your house, so why are we making it look like we don't?! 😅

Nobody cares if things don't match, in fact, I think it looks better when they don't!

Time to relinquish ourselves from this unspoken pressure to show up in a certain way and just invite people in, share space, share food, and have a laugh!

Taking it as easy as possible this January, as many slow days as I can and a quiet return to reality. Hosted twice at home last week, though, and loved cooking for my friends.

Really loving my new book One Pot, Pan, Planet - completely up my street and full of wonderful inspo! I made the quick squash lasagne with gf lasagne sheets for my coeliac bestie and it was delishh!

Sorry, it is all a bit quiet on the Rituals & Roots front, but I'm all consumed with taking good care of our café

If you don't already know, then the reason why it is taking up so much of my time at the moment is because we have an imminent and unexpected move upon us this winter.

Unfortunately, due to reasons beyond our control we only have 3 months left in our wonderful West Street space, where we have been for nearly 8 years.

This move was not on the cards, so we do not have the funds to fulfil it, which is why we are CrowdFunding to help us finance a new space.

For now, that's where I will be, I will be taking on very limited work in 2026 so I can concentrate on the café. Do message enquiries as there is some space available - just not a lot!

I already have 2 retreats in the calendar, which is so exciting, one with down in South Wales and also Dunoon with so please hop onto their pages for more info on those because they are unbelievably glorious weekends (would make fab Christmas pressies!)

Sorry pile of admin... it was my birthday on Thursday!

Spent a lush evening with most of my favourite people in the world in the gorgeous (my favourite place) had lots of giggles, Mum made a giant battenburg which was incredible and we had a beautiful buffet from which was so delicious - and such a treat to not have to cook any of it!

Not my usual job, but I was asked to bake some cupcakes today for for their event at which was lovely!

I tried to incorporate seasonal foods, so we had;

🍫 Beetroot & chocolate
🍋 Lemon & thyme (vegan and gluten free)
🍎 Spiced apple

Absolutely buzzing at the possibility of bringing a wholesome winter retreat to the gorgeous house I spent my own wedding weekend in - eeeeee!!

Think roaring fires, cosy nooks to read and relax in, gorgeous luxe bedrooms, delicious food, daily meditation and yoga in the Grand Hall plus more fun too (lots of exciting things to chat about!)

Celebrating the wonderful volunteers of Berwick Food & Beer Fest 2025 in my fave venue this past Friday 🙌

I do enjoy wearing a few different hats, and stepping out of the kitchen and into event management brings me so much JOY. Community mobilisation, celebration and of course fantastic food & drink - I just love it!

Honestly, I do believe my experience of event management makes me a very helpful addition to your team - even if I am there as a caterer I also have extensive knowledge of everything else going into your event. I therefore can support you, provide a listening ear, advice and understanding of the planning processes etc.

Absolutely gorgeous food for our gathering by who not only provide gorgeous grub but they are lovely people too. A joy to work with ❤️

Preparation for E&H has begun! We checked into our lush little flat yesterday and have been up and down Crail High Street this morning gathering local meat and produce for the wedding tomorrow - love visiting an area and choosing local from where I am, though I did come prepared with my bulk order from

Off to St Monans now to pick up the fish! 🐟
