Istoria Vinăriei Țiganca datează din prima jumătate a secolului al XVIII-lea, când doi frați de origine greacă, fiind impresionaţi de amplasarea, clima şi terroirul regiunii „Valul lui Traian” de la Sudul Moldovei, cumpără câteva plantații de viță-de-vie și înființează o mică cramă în satul Țiganca. Vinăria Ţiganca a fost fondată ceva mai târziu, în anul 1953 şi s-a numărat printre cele mai mari c

ombinate de vin din ţară. În 1997, ea a fost cumpărată de familia Dulgher, care prin dăruire şi muncă asiduuă a contribuit la reconstrucţia şi retehnologizarea cramei, extinzând plantaţiile de viţă de vie în arealul Valul lui Traian, satele Filipeni şi Romanovka.

În prezent, Gitana Winery exploatează aproximativ 370 de hectare de viţă de vie, având o capacitate de stocare de 7 milioane de litri şi una de producţie de la 2,2 pâna la 2,7 milioane de litri. Dacă zece ani în urmă, Gitana Winery era în topul celor mai mari trei exportatori de vin în vrac şi proprietarii doar planificau exportul de sticle, în prezent planurile au fost materializate, pentru că în luna iunie 2011 a fost însemnat momentul naşterii primei sticle a brandului „Gitana”. Anul 2012 a fost unul foarte important pentru comanie, aceasta extinzându-se în retail, vinurile Gitana fiind comercializate în Duty-free şi în supermarketuri.

A label from 1906, currently exhibited at the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History in Chișinău, is a fragment of history showing that Bessarabia was already part of the European culture of bottled wine – signed, labeled, and intended as a product of identity and prestige.

“Bessarabian wine,” produced from French vines and bottled under its own name in 1906, speaks of a sophisticated winemaking tradition, connected to the major European practices of that era.

More than a century later, Gitana Winery continues this tradition in the south of the Republic of Moldova, carrying forward the idea that wine means terroir, memory, family, and culture.

At the end of last week, Vernisajul Vinului 2026 – Spring Edition, held in Chișinău, brought together wine lovers and industry professionals, in a celebration dedicated to white and rosé wines. Over 500 wines, presented by 66 exhibitors, shaped one of the most significant editions devoted to freshness and aromatic elegance.

At the heart of the event was Fetească Regală, the emblematic grape variety of this edition.

Gitana Winery, by Dulgher Family Estate, presented a Riesling from its Clasic Reserva range, a single-varietal Fetească Regală, the Fetească Regală & Chardonnay blend from the Autograf series, as well as the La Petite Sophie and Surori wines.
