Briffa W**e Selections was created to showcase fine w**es and bring to our island different w**e selections from Producers in lesser-known regions that work with indigenous grape varieties or specializing with certain grape varieties.

Some w**es carry a whole family’s story in the bottle.

Meet Bodegas Marisol Rubio — a fifth-generation farming family from Villanueva de Alcardete, in the heart of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. The brand was founded in 2018 as a tribute to the founder’s mother, Marisol. Her name is on every bottle.

What makes these w**es genuinely unusual: their whites are made from Pedro Ximénez, a grape most people only know from sweet sherry. Here it’s vinified dry — and the result is something fresh, textured and completely unexpected.
