We did a thing! 😄🥬

And for once, “a thing” is putting it mildly.

This is the first system designed and built entirely by the Jacfruit team — from the ground up, by the people.

It’s a big one for us. It means we can build faster, test more, tweak things when we feel like it, and generally make our lives slightly more complicated in the name of better lettuce 🥬

When it rains, we store! 💦 🥬

Extreme droughts across the entire island of Mauritius Island and constant water shortages have driven us to rethink one of farmings most basic necessities - water security.

These two tanks are dedicated to harvesting rainwater from our greenhouses. Turning a rainy day into a serious water reserve.

Don’t let the size fool you! 🌱 One handful of broccoli sprouts has the same amount of nutrients as 1kg of mature broccoli. Tiny, mighty, extremely nutritious, and grown right here in Mauritius 🇲🇺

🚨 Pesticide Alert on Microgreens! 🚨

Beware of unnatural colors on your food! I found microgreen seed hulls coated with fungicides and pesticides at a restaurant. Consuming these directly means you’re eating TOXIC chemicals. 😷

The worst part? I warned the restaurant owner about this danger just a week earlier, only to return and find the same contaminated microgreens still being served. 😔

Let’s demand safer, cleaner food! Always check your microgreens and speak up. 🌱
