UNDER FIRE AND PERFECTLY COMFORTABLE - Our founder Jiří Ragan was the second guest ever invited onto Pod palbou s Angelikou ("Under Fire with Angelika"), the new interview series hosted by journalist Angelika Tichá. The questions were sharp. The sofa was pink. Both suited him perfectly. Long answers, no escape route, exactly the right setting for a conversation about rum.
The story he told there is the one behind every bottle: a business career that took the family to an island in the Indian Ocean, a founder who couldn't find a single rum he actually enjoyed, and a decision made with his wife, both of them trained in medicine, to create their own. Then came the hundreds of hours of testing, the blends that didn't work, the people met along the way, and a bottle redesigned until it was worthy of what it holds.
"I have always preferred telling this story in person, at tastings, at events, glass in hand. A podcast is the same pleasure, only the audience is bigger, and I can't pour them a drink. It was an honour to be Angelika's second guest, and a real joy to talk about the people, and all the chapters it took to write the story of De Ragan”.
