Job Opportunity: Agronomist & Farm Financial Manager
Location: Small-Scale Integrated Agricultural Farm, Malawi
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Agronomist with strong finance and accounting skills to oversee both the agricultural operations and financial management of our integrated farm in Malawi. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on agronomic expertise with the ability to manage budgets, financial reports, and overall farm profitability.

Key Responsibilities
Agronomy & Farm Operations
• Develop and implement effective crop management strategies across multiple crops.
• Monitor and improve soil health through appropriate interventions.
• Oversee planting, growth, pest control, and harvesting to maximize yields.
• Conduct trials and introduce innovative, sustainable agronomic practices.
• Ensure compliance with local agricultural standards and regulations.
Finance & Accounting
• Manage farm finances including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Maintain accurate accounting records for income, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
• Prepare financial statements, budgets, and cash-flow projections.
• Analyze financial data to support decision-making and improve profitability.
• Ensure compliance with local tax requirements and financial regulations.

• Agronomic Expertise: Strong understanding of crop management and soil science.
• Financial Management: Background in budgeting, accounting, and financial analysis in agriculture.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Agronomy, Agriculture, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in agronomy and farm management.
• Experience in financial management within an agricultural environment.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Knowledge of local Malawian crops, markets, and farming conditions.
