!!Voting day is tomorrow, June 9!!

Hello neighbors! My name is Dara Crawford and I live in Limington, Maine where I run a small, certified organic farm with my family, and I’m running for school board for MSAD 6.

My two children attend HB Emery elementary school, where I’ve been very fortunate to be an active volunteer for the last few years. Spending time at HBE has been incredibly fun and inspirational, and has motivated me to step up to serve the students, staff, parents/caretakers and all stakeholders of our schools by serving as the new representative from Limington on the school board.

I believe all kids should have the opportunity to thrive, and with my fresh eyes and fresh energy, along with my desire to collaborate and work hard, I’ll help our school board’s vision and policies meet that goal. We must never fail to roll up our sleeves to find ways to move our school district forward more effectively and more efficiently. Please know that I will work to protect your tax dollars as I also work to help make the education of our children be the best it can be.

I will bring my love of the outdoors, agriculture and interest in nature-based learning to inspire students to step away from the screens in their spare time. I support experiential learning and outdoor education at all levels in our district, and I want to support our staff in continuing to develop opportunities for students to learn about the world around them. I will also work on decreasing food and packaging waste in cafeterias, and bringing more fresh foods into the lunchroom.

There is much to improve in our district, and there is also much to be proud of as well. If you are a voter in one of the five towns of our school district (Buxton, Frye Island, Hollis, Limington and Standish), I hope you will vote for me, and trust that I will work hard for all of us, and most especially, for our kids.
