Cuvée de la Familia, 2025
In many ways, Cuvée de la Familia brings together the core elements that have always shaped Montagave - family, flavor, and technique over categorization or designation. Above all, it allows us to pause and mark what the year made possible.
The 2025 edition of our family blend focuses on four primary threads: agave, chocolate, berry fruit, and flowers. Balance was achieved through how the components were layered, unlocking a harmony between deeper, richer chocolate notes and brighter fruit, floral, and agave elements that bring both lift and structure.
Cuvée de la Familia is composed of two barrels of 1st-fill Burgundy reposado, two barrels of 2nd-fill Bordeaux añejo, one 2nd-fill Bordeaux reposado barrel of Las Rocas, and a measured addition of Las Rocas blanco to lift the final blend.
On the nose, agave leads, followed by cocoa, red fruit, and dried florals. The palate opens with weight, moving through chocolate, espresso, honey, and ripe berry before brightening with agave and a delicate floral note, and then going back to the deep richness of chocolate, cherry, and baking spice.
