This year marks 50 years since the legendary Judgment of Paris. To celebrate, we’re beginning a journey through five decades of Chateau Montelena memories, stories that defined a legacy and still inspire today.
In this flashback to the 1980s, CEO Bo Barrett, Emeritus Vineyard Manager Dave Vella, Former Cellar Master and Production Manager Gerard Zanzonico, and the rest of the Montelena Crush Crew gather for a tradition that continues to this day.
Each year, at the close of harvest, our production team pauses for a celebratory photo, a moment to honor the work, the vintage and the people behind it. This image is one of the earliest editions of that enduring ritual.
