Delamotte Blanc de Blancs 2014, a Champagne with a heritage as rich as its flavor.
Founded in 1760 by vineyard owner François Delamotte, Champagne Delamotte is a true testament to history. It's the fifth oldest producer in the Champagne region, its legacy passing through generations, even bearing different names. In the late 1940s, it was re-established as Delamotte when the de Nonancourt family took the reins.
Bernard de Nonancourt, a legendary figure in the Champagne industry, managed Delamotte until 1988, when Champagne Laurent-Perrier acquired the business. They further enriched their portfolio by acquiring the prestigious House of Champagne Salon in 1989, uniting the two under their management. Today, Champagne Salon and Champagne Delamotte, located in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, remain sister companies.
Delamotte's commitment to quality shines through its vineyards, boasting six hectares in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, encompassing Avize, Cramant, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, and Oger. Native yeast fermentation in stainless steel is followed by a six-month rest on lees, infusing the wine with depth and character. A touch of sulphites, the bare minimum, is added, honoring the grape's purity.
Eulogio Pomares, the wizard of Albariño, brings his magic to Fento as the winemaker for this new venture.
