Never gets old…

The smell of fresh sourdough coming out of the oven. The warmth, the taste…the love.

First loaves of the week always hit differently.

Will have a few extra Friday, maybe Saturday. Come early. Scratch made, organic ingredients only. A labor of love.

Before Sasha came along, we were already driving to local farms—sourcing our food straight from the land.

And since she’s been here… she’s grown up in it.

This was back in North County San Diego.
Sasha was little, already part of the rhythm.

Long before Alquimia, before Baja, before any of this…it was just how we lived.

It wasn’t convenient.
It wasn’t trendy.
It just felt right.

So when people ask how long we’ve been doing this…it’s hard to give a simple answer.

Because this isn’t something we just started—it’s something we’ve been living for many years.

And every plate we serve now…
carries a piece of that.

This wasn’t even on the menu…

No pancakes… so we improvised.

House sourdough → French toast
real ingredients → simple, house-made sauces

It started as a one-off…
and honestly, it hit.

Sometimes the best things just happen like that.

We might bring this back this weekend.

This was on the table last weekend…
and honestly, this is what it’s all about.

One of our regulars shared this with us after sitting down:

“Really enjoyed the avocado toast with the Romanetti queso… perfectly cooked egg.
The salad was great as always, and the chicken and lamb were a highlight—excellent flavor and really tender.”

That one meant a lot.

We’re back at it again this weekend—
same intention, same table…
with a few new things coming out of the kitchen.

Bio-construction workshop this wknd at Alquimia Sagrada at Tempest Trading. Still a few spots open if you feel called to get you hands in the earth and build in a way that feels real, grounded, and alive.

Today we loaded a truck full of clay dirt with these architecture students who are passionate about natural building. There’s something powerful about seeing that spark…like the next generation remembering what actually matters even if their peers don’t see it just yet. They will be leading the way.
