Los Fertres Agroindustria SPR de RL de CV began operations in 1985 in the state of Tamaulipas. Thirty years later, in early 2015, the company relocated to the state of Queretaro. Since it was founded, Los Fertres Agroindustria has been consistently growing to the point it has become one of the most accountable in the agricultural sector of the country.
During the initial stages of operation, Los Fertres Agroindustria focused on selling meat from grass fed cattle to a vast number of clients throughout Mexico. In 1991, the company built its first feedlot to be able to continuously supply high quality meat to a particular customer, Aurrera. This company later become Wal Mart de Mexico, making Los Fertres Agroindustria the oldest supplier in the country
This is the only area of the business that still operates in Tamaulipas, where the company has over 3,000 hectares where we have 3,200 cows that are bred with Red Angus bulls. An annual production of 2,500 calves are bred, and distributed as follows: Heifers are kept to continue increasing the herd, and the calves are exported to the USA to continue increasing the herd.
Feedlot
Los Fertres Agroindustria feedlots have an installed capacity of 25,000 head of cattle, and continues to grow year after year. The facilities, from the cattle's point of entry, until it's sent to the slaughterhouse is certified by the “Buenas Prácticas Pecuarias” program that guarantees that every animal will receive a humane treatment, and will be comfortable, and in good overall coniditions.
Feeding
The company has a food processing plant where all the aliment that is being served on the feedlots is guaranteed to be balanced to the exact nutrient formula, using world class ingredients. There is a department of quality in-house, as well as a laboratory in the food processing plant that ensures all the food supplies arrive exactly as requested.

All of the cattle that leave our feedlots, are sacrificed in a slaughterhouse, and meat packed in-house. This plant is one of the best in the country, with state-of-the art operations that allows the company to sacrifice up to 500 cattle per day. In addition, there is a processing plant to debone the animals sacrificed in the slaughterhouse. To ensure optimal procedures, the Quality department is shaped by a group of experts that along with the rest of the company guarantees that any and every product from Los Fertres Agroindustria complies with world-class health, and quality standards. Sustainability
Los Fertres Agroindustria is a socially responsible company, and part of the strategy has been to use renewable energy. All of the waste, subproducts, blood, f***s and sewage from the operation, goes to a Biodigestor to generate Biogas which is used to operate the boilers. This allows Los Fertres Agroindustria to cover up to 80% of the gas needs within the plant. In addition, the company has solar powered heaters that increase the water temperature that goes into the boilers, making the water heating procedures faster, and more efficient.
