Danish-born textile artist Trine Ellitsgaard has spent nearly four decades living and working in Oaxaca, developing a practice shaped by an ongoing exchange between Scandinavian restraint and the materials, techniques and textile traditions she encountered in Mexico. In 2026, Architectural Digest México recognized her among its Mujeres Creativas, celebrating women redefining Latin American design.

For La Casa Dragones, Trine created a large-scale textile work using black wool from traditional Chamula garments, crossed by a woven line of reflective glass thread that catches and transforms the light.

The piece captures something essential to La Casa Dragones: a respect for tradition as something living and evolving. By giving familiar materials a new expression, Trine’s work reflects the same balance of craftsmanship and innovation that has always defined Casa Dragones.

Inside The Language of Home, and the New York rooms that brought it to life.

To celebrate the launch of Meyer Davis’ first residential monograph, The Language of Home, Casa Dragones joined Will Meyer and Gray Davis for two evenings exploring the ideas at the heart of the book: design, collecting, entertaining, and the way a home takes shape around the people who inhabit it.

The first unfolded at 56 Leonard, inside the penthouse featured in the book’s opening chapter, where guests moved through the residence with Casa Dragones cocktails in hand. Days later, the conversation continued at Casa Cipriani New York’s Jazz Café, where Will and Gray were joined by J E N N A L Y O N S and ELLE Decor’s Elisa Lipsky-Karasz for an intimate conversation on art, color, collecting, and the art of living well.

For Casa Dragones, the celebration continues a longstanding creative relationship with Meyer Davis, whose work has helped shape both our Tasting Room at Dôce 18 and La Casa Dragones in San Miguel de Allende.

To the rooms that stay with us, and the people who give them life.

The Language of Home, published by The Images Publishing Group, is available now.

Designed by history, reimagined for the present.

One of Mexico’s leading contemporary designers, Héctor Esrawe brings his multidisciplinary approach to La Casa Dragones through works created in direct response to the architecture and history of the house.

Rising through the stone staircase, an original, site-specific installation developed from Esrawe’s Solsticio series introduces a contemporary intervention within the historic structure. In the Obsidian Bar, sculptural seating draws from the form of the saddle, referencing the building’s past and its connection to the Dragones cavalry.

Together, the pieces create a dialogue between heritage and contemporary Mexican design, honoring the history of La Casa Dragones while giving it a new expression for today.

Bertha González Nieves, our co-founder and CEO, takes us into the heart of the Valley of Tequila in Tequila, Jalisco, to explore the land and the harvest behind Casa Dragones.

At the foot of the Volcano of Tequila, she visits one of her favorite agave fields. Here, obsidian lies in the soil, and young agaves remain connected to their mother plants for around two years before being replanted.

Then comes the jima, a harvest performed entirely by hand, revealing the weight, texture and fresh aroma of each piña. A moment that brings the connection between the land, its people and our tequila into focus.
