Chicken Kyiv was once considered a “luxury” dish — because butter, especially in generous amounts, was historically expensive. That rich, flowing center was a true sign of status 🧈

It became hugely popular internationally in the mid-1900s and turned into a comfort-food classic across Europe and beyond, even though its roots trace back to Eastern Europe 🇺🇦

Before breadcrumbs became standard, early versions of the dish were sometimes simply floured and sautéed — the crispy coating evolved later for better texture and sealing 🍗

Crispy on the outside, buttery on the inside… there’s a reason this dish became a worldwide favorite 🤤

This dish is known as dakgangjeong (닭강정). While its roots trace back to traditional Korean cooking, the modern crispy version - double-fried, and glazed was shaped in South Korea.

After the Korean War, American-style fried chicken made its way into the country. But instead of simply recreating it, Korean cooks refined it. Using local ingredients, aiming for a lighter, crispier texture, and perfecting the balance between crunch and sauce.

That’s where the magic really began ✨
A simple dish, but with a lot of thought behind every detail.

Smaller, bite-sized pieces mean more surface area, so every bite has that perfect balance of crispy coating and juicy chicken.

In Korea - It’s famously paired with beer, known as ‘chimaek’ (chicken + beer) 🍻

The whole idea of rolling and stuffing meat comes from classic European dishes like Braciole in Italy 🇮🇹 or Roulades in France 🇫🇷 and Germany 🇩🇪

These were traditionally ways to turn tougher cuts into something tender, flavorful, and a bit more elegant.

While Europeans often braised these rolls in sauce, in Argentina and Mexico the concept evolved onto the grill 🔥

Chimichurri comes straight from Argentina 🇦🇷 where it’s a staple of asado - their traditional barbecue culture.

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio is one of the most famous pasta dishes from Naples, Italy 🇮🇹

What makes it special is its beautiful simplicity - it became iconic because the technique matters more than the ingredients. The garlic is gently warmed in olive oil to release its flavor, and a splash of starchy pasta water turns everything into a silky sauce that coats the pasta.

Fun fact: In Italy it’s sometimes called the “midnight pasta” because it’s the dish many people cook late at night after going out — it’s quick, satisfying and absolutely delicious!🤤

Cajun seasoning comes from the cooking traditions of the Cajun people in Louisiana. It developed as part of the rustic, practical cuisine they created after settling there in the late 1700s.

When the Acadians (later called Cajuns) arrived in Louisiana after the Expulsion of the Acadians, they had to adapt their cooking to a completely new environment. Their food evolved from a blend of French cooking traditions, local Native American ingredients, and Spanish and African influences.
