Thanks to .sips, I’m finally starting to feel like a real human again 💁🏻‍♀️

Omg people - July was a WHIRLWIND 🌪 after an amazing week in ACK with my better half , I was in the city for barely 48 hours before I was whisked away to Madrid for training (new big girl job 👩🏻‍💻). From there, I went directly to France to meet my husband for a birthday trip we had planned months ago.

So net net, I drank pretty much everyday from July 2nd to 23rd. For those counting, yes that is ONE FULL MONTH 😶

I’ve been getting back into my workouts 🏋🏻‍♀️ and healthy eating routine 🥑, and drinking is the last thing I want to do - butttt I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I am craving the warmth and release that comes with a glass of wine at the end of the work day.

⬇️Thankfully, we picked up some wine bottles from our .sips in June 💃🏻

💫 PROXIES, Zephyr - this is the Rosé style of their non-alcoholic blend collection. Thrilled to find common notes of Rosé in this one like strawberries, apple, hibiscus and lemon🍋. Super refreshing on its own or with seafood, pesto pasta, any summer bites really.

💫 Leitz Eins Zwei Zero Blanc de Blanc - produced by one of the finest winemakers in Germany, Weinguit Ein Leitz, this will impress any typical white wine drinker. Notes of honey, herbs, citrus and pairs wonderfully with my super exciting (cough healthy) roasted chicken and veggies 🙃

We’ve been diving more into the sober curious world and are pumped that a store like .sips now exists!

Burgundy part deux ✌🏼

Next, we headed to the town of Beaune for a quick lunch and hit a cute place that was a recommendation from our driver 🚐

Finally, we arrived at and enjoyed a tasting through their expressions of Pinot Noir 🍇

We were already avid fans, so it was wonderful being able to visit the estate in person 🤩 A large part of it is under construction, so we were not able to tour it in full - the parts we did see however were superb and our guide was a lovely teacher to their killer wines 🍷

We’re Tina & Liz

Two millennials navigating the world of wine through the lens of sarcasm, humor, and some actual knowledge bombs. More on that later.

Like most people our age (at least we think), we got pretty intimidated by this whole wine deal. Tasting notes? Spitting? Super weird terminology like terroir and botrytis? Why, wine gods, why?!

One thing that we knew for certain: we both liked to drink it. And share our times together drinking it. So we started documenting that journey and started getting a little bit smarter about it all along the way.

Why should you listen to us? You probably should not. BUT, collectively, we share a fancy certification in wine (WSET Level 2 w/ distinction), have spent over a decade behind the bar pouring it, and we’re guessing have probably tried more than 2,500 bottles of it. Besides that, we’ll try to make this whole thing fun and a little weird.
