"HOW DID THE WORLD LET THIS HAPPEN? WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU LET KIDS BURY EACH OTHER"
Land Day for Palestine: On March 30. 1976, Palestinians rose up in unified protest against the continued theft of their land and livelihood. Israel responded by murdering Palestinians (as they usually do). Since then, March 30 has become known as Land Day, commemorated each year to mobilize against further theft of Palestinian land and reassert the right of return for Palestinians to their homeland. Palestinians have a rich and significant relationship with the land, with traditions like farming olive groves. Images of Palestinians hugging the olive trees that they spent decades cultivating show the intense love that Palestinians have for their land. Israel, on the other hand, has done nothing but destroy the land with their incessant bombing, cutting down of olive trees, spraying white phosphorus, and plans to build "beachfront properties" on the beaches of Gaza.
In the past week, the United Nations finally passed a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, but Israel has ignored this demand and continues their genocide and slaughter of Palestinians, invading and bombing Rafah.
However, the pressure is mounting as much of the world is standing with Palestine and more and more Americans are speaking out against Israel with each passing day. We must continue to keep up the pressure, for Palestine, as well as for Congo, Sudan, and all oppressed people.
