A hobby turned business

I have always admired people selling nyonya kueh. I experimented with making nyonya kueh, my mom’s traditional fruit cake, chocolate mousse cake among other things. I found it enjoyable and therapeutic. Cakes/ Kueh do not talk back. They turn out just as good as you make them.

Each time I make them, I gave them away and family and friends complimented my baking skills. They gave feedback and encouraged me to bake more. Of course, there are some unsuccessful ones but it only makes me curious. To find out why certain ingredients are used. As an advocate of eating healthy, I take an interest what goes into my food. I take care what I put into my product and end result, I want something healthy for my family and friends.

Another reason was the more I baked, I found a story linking to the history of the kueh. Adamant to find out more, I got on a baking frenzy. Getting my neighbours to try my baking outcome.
