For us at Etika, halal is more than a certification. It is a promise — a promise of trust, responsibility and care for the communities we serve.
As a homegrown halal beverage producer, we believe our role goes beyond creating products that Malaysians love. It is also about showing up, building connections and creating meaningful moments beyond our business.
Recently, Etika journeyed to Cameron Highlands, reaching out to more than 300 Orang Asli families across four villages through a community impact initiative.
Conceptualised and led by Norasikin Abdul Rahman, Vice President, Human Resources, Etika Group of Companies, the initiative was brought to life in collaboration with Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia, represented by Johan bin Halid, Chief Executive Officer, Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia.
Together, the collaboration brought together community support, purposeful engagement and the shared commitment to making a meaningful difference for the Orang Asli communities in Cameron Highlands.
Alongside essential support, families also received refreshments from our proudly Malaysian beverage portfolio, including favourites such as WONDA, Goodday, Calpis Soda and more - brands that are part of everyday moments for Malaysians.
The journey was further strengthened through the volunteerism of Eri Nizam bin Abu Samah, Penolong Pegawai Hal Ehwal Islam Tertinggi, Bahagian Dasar Kemajuan Islam, JAKIM, whose presence reflected the shared importance of Malaysia’s halal ecosystem and the responsibility of halal industry players in contributing positively to society.
But beyond what we brought, it was the conversations, connections and shared moments with the community that made this journey meaningful.
Together with Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia and with the support of Malaysia’s halal ecosystem partners such as JAKIM, Etika continues to believe that being a halal beverage company is not only about what we produce — it is about the values we uphold and the communities we touch.
