FIVES Hotel Melaka is getting ready for its next chapter, and right now, we’re building the team who will bring its energy, warmth and personality to life.

We’re looking for individuals who are curious, capable, full of initiative and ready to grow. Whether hospitality is already your world or you’re looking for a place where your next move can mean something more, this could be the beginning of something exciting.

There is something special about joining a hotel before the first guest arrives. You get to shape the experience, build the culture and leave your own mark on what it becomes.

And that is exactly what we hope FIVES Hotel Melaka will be - a place guests enjoy discovering, and a place our team is proud to be part of.

𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐈𝐒 𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐄.

There are many ways to describe Malaysia.

Sometimes, it is a Malay colleague speaking to you in Mandarin.

Sometimes, it is a Punjabi friend singing a Malay song we somehow all know the words to.

It is switching between languages without even realising it. Sharing food from cultures different from our own. Laughing at the same jokes. Celebrating one another's festivities. Growing up with differences that, over time, simply became part of who we are.

And sometimes, Malaysia is something bigger.
It is a place of endless possibilities.

A place where ordinary people carry extraordinary dreams. Where we build, create, work, learn and keep believing that tomorrow can be better than today.

Perhaps that is the beauty of Malaysia.

We were never meant to be the same.

We come from different families, cultures, faiths and stories. We may speak differently, look different and see the world differently.

Yet, there are moments when all those differences disappear - and we simply recognise one another as 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬.

At SKS Group, we see this every day in our own people. Different backgrounds. Different experiences. Different dreams. Working alongside one another, building something together and contributing, in our own ways, to the country we call home.

Because a nation is more than the land beneath our feet.

It is the people beside us.
The opportunities ahead of us.
The dreams we dare to pursue.

And the sense of belonging that quietly tells us...
𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐈 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠.

This Merdeka, we celebrate all the beautiful differences that make us who we are - and everything that continues to bring us together.

Selamat Hari Merdeka ke-69, Malaysia.

As we commemorate Maulidur Rasul, may we be reminded that true strength is found not only in what we achieve, but in the values we carry along the way.

Compassion in how we treat others. Integrity in how we conduct ourselves. Humility in how we lead. And kindness in how we contribute to the communities around us.

May these timeless values continue to guide us in building not only a stronger organisation, but a better world around us.

Salam Maulidur Rasul from all of us at SKS Group.

One day, we realise it was never really about the big moments.

It was the laughter. The hugs. The little celebrations. The ordinary days made special simply because we were together.

Here’s to making more of those memories at Four Points by Sheraton Johor Bahru. 🤍

How does a beach end up with 370kg of rubbish?
It is a question many of us quietly found ourselves asking last Saturday.

Not because the beach was neglected by those who care for it, but because every bottle, wrapper and piece of plastic had found its way there through countless small moments of carelessness. One at a time. Until, together, they became something much bigger.

That morning, more than 50 colleagues from SKS Group, SKS Hospitality, Four Points by Sheraton Desaru, SKS Mall Desaru and Majlis Perbandaran Pengerang gathered at Pantai Batu Layar, Desaru, for what was meant to be a simple beach clean-up.

It became something more.

As bags gradually filled with mostly discarded plastic bottles, conversations naturally shifted beyond the task itself. Many of us found ourselves wondering how often we walk past litter, assuming someone else will eventually deal with it. How easily we overlook the small choices that quietly shape the places we all share.

Perhaps that was the most valuable part of the morning.

Not the 370kg of waste we collected.
Not the photographs.
Not even the satisfaction of seeing a cleaner stretch of coastline.

It was the reminder that caring for our environment is rarely defined by one extraordinary effort. More often, it is reflected in the ordinary decisions we make every day.
The bottle we choose to recycle.
The rubbish we decide not to leave behind.
The willingness to pick up something that isn't ours simply because leaving it there didn't feel right.

At SKS Group, this beach clean-up is one of many ESG initiatives we continue to undertake, but we know meaningful change cannot belong to one organisation alone. It grows when communities, businesses, local authorities and individuals each play their part, however small it may seem.

If there is one hope we carry from that morning, it is not that others will applaud what we did.
It is that perhaps someone, somewhere, might pause before leaving a piece of rubbish behind. Or decide to pick one up.

Because protecting the places we love has never depended on a few people doing something extraordinary. But it depended on many people choosing to care.

Our sincere thanks to Majlis Perbandaran Pengerang for partnering with us, and to every colleague who spent their Saturday morning helping leave Pantai Batu Layar just a little better than we found it.

𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲.
And often, somewhere within that story, is a father who taught us something that stayed.

A lesson about hard work.
A reminder to stay humble.
Words of encouragement at the right moment.
Or simply memories that continue to bring a smile years later.

This Father's Day, we invited our colleagues across SKS Group to reflect on their fathers who have influenced their lives through a series of simple but meaningful questions.

Their answers remind us that some of life's greatest lessons are not learnt from books or classrooms, but through the quiet moments, simple words and everyday examples of those who helped shape who we are today.

To all fathers, thank you for the guidance, sacrifices and values that continue to live on through the lives you have touched.

The team member who prepares a room before a guest arrives.
The chef who begins the day before the sun does.
The smile offered even after long hours, because someone else’s comfort matters.

This season reminds us that care is never ordinary. It is a choice, an effort, and sometimes, a quiet sacrifice made to make others feel welcomed, valued, and at ease.

May this festive season bring meaningful moments, heartfelt reunions, and a renewed appreciation for the people who give so much of themselves to others.
