Honoured to connect at the ASEAN Regenerative Resilience Agriculture (RRA) meeting in Bali.

It was a privilege to meet Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Head and Assistant Director of the Food, Agriculture, and Forestry Division at the ASEAN Secretariat. I was grateful to share my book, "Nutrient Density Starts in the Soil," and discuss how we can build stronger, more resilient food systems across the ASEAN region.

Regenerative agriculture isn't just about soil — it's about food security, farmer livelihoods, and climate resilience for all ten ASEAN nations. Real impact happens when on-ground experience meets regional policy.

I was an engineer who happened to own a farm. Today I lead Regenerative Farmers Malaysia, founded PPRM, wrote Nutrient Density Starts in The Soil.
It all started with a decision-making framework, not a new tool or input.
Every farm decision is an environmental decision. What we graze, spray and sell either rebuilds soil, water and biodiversity, or draws them down. Holistic Management taught me to define the whole, test every decision against it, and keep monitoring and adjusting.
Thank you to Brian Wehlburg and the HMI community for a global network that understands this work is about restoring land, feeding people properly.

We are so proud to have played a small part in Michael Ong's inspiring story of building his regenerative farm business, Regenerative Farmers Malaysia , founding Malaysia's national regenerative agriculture assosication, Persatuan Pertanian Regeneratif Malaysia, writing and publishing Malaysia's first regenerative agriculture guide, 'Nutrient Density Starts in the Soil' and engaging Malaysia's agriculture ministry on regenerative policy.
Michael embraced Holistic Management and started making changes and he achieved all of this in an incredible three short years.

Standing shoulder to shoulder with Malaysia’s industry leaders and academicians. 🇲🇾🌿

Today, we were honoured to attend UMK Connect 2026: Industry Appreciation & Strategic Collaboration at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur.

It was a proud moment to see Regenerative Farmers Malaysia featured alongside respected industry names, and to stand among the people who are helping move Malaysian agriculture, veterinary science and food systems forward.

Thank you to Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) and its leadership for the invitation, and for the openness to explore collaboration in regenerative agriculture. It was also a pleasure to reconnect with industry leaders and members of UMK’s top management.

When universities, industry and farmers work together, real change can happen both on the land and on the plate.

This is only the beginning. 🙏

Animal Impact🌿🐓
Chickens are a key part of our regenerative agriculture system here at the farm. Just look at the positive impact they have on the land!
By allowing our chickens to freely range through the coconut grove, they provide invaluable "Animal Impact" services:
🪱 Pecking and scratching, disturbing the soil surface to incorporate organic matter
💩 Depositing nutrient-rich manure to fertilize the soil and feed soil biology
🦗 Feasting on insects, managing pests naturally without chemicals
🌿 Lightly grazing on vegetation, spurring plant regrowth
The result is a thriving, biodiverse understory in our silvopasture system. The chickens' natural behaviors help regenerate soil health, allowing us to produce nutrient-dense eggs and meat.
Stacking multiple enterprises like chickens, cattle and tree crops creates a resilient system that's good for the animals, the land, the farmer, and your health as an eater! This is regenerative agriculture in action.

When animals are able to move naturally, experience sunlight, and live closer to their natural needs, it impacts the quality of the food we receive.
Health starts long before the food reaches our plate.
