I decided to share this image of me that my staff shared in our group chat today. Over the weekend we had an electrical issue. Both Vagabond and Kuke didn’t have any power due to our mains burning out. Of course this has to happen on the weekend so we can only have this settled by today or tomorrow.
The team are at their homes and I was going through our customers and realised that there were a few orders that have not been settled. Hence, the picture taken, in the dark, with my phone torch on, layering our 5 Shades of Chocolate. I haven’t layered a cake in a while so it was good to see that I can still do it.
Anyway, while I wait for a customer to come I thought I would share what I am grateful for.
1) Wonderful neighbours. Momotalo Yakiniku were very generous to lend us 2 power supply outlets to keep one chiller and freezer running as well as their walk in freezer for many of our boxes. Thank u so much!!!
2) Very understanding customers who were able to accept our replacements of 5 shades for the cake they originally ordered and didn’t give me too much grief. Truly appreciate the understanding
3) A landlord who was willing to quickly support our needs and approved the electrician we engaged, even though they thought the quote was a bit on the high side.
We have had experiences such as this once in a while but never for such a long period of time. Super glad that I am seeing the light at the end of this drama and hope to be back on Tuesday to get the team baking again 🙏🙏🙏
