Ruba Anak Lubi in mid-2001, first stall was named 'Night Laksa' and opened at a coffee shop called China Town Tabuan Jaya which has now become Super Save which is behind RHB Bank. Ruba opens laksa stall from evening till night while during the day, He works as an Office Boy at Koperasi Gabungan Sekolah Sdn Bhd. Law Laksa stall is his side income. In 2002, the China Town shop was taken over by a ne
w boss and the name became 'Expert Tabuan Jaya'. The same goes the 'Night Laksa' stall also became 'Mr.Law Laksa' in conjunction with the name of my late grandfather, Mr. Law Loo Bee @ Lubi ak Mat. Operating hours also run from morning to night and Mr. Ruba has hired people to run his business in the morning. In the same year, Mr. Ruba has managed to open two laksa stall branches in Thian Thian (behind upwell supermarket Jalan Song) and Three Hills Cafe (Jalan Sekama)
In the middle of 2005, Mr. Law Laksa stopped operating due to personal problems and at the same time, Tabuan Expert shop has moved to BDC area. However, Mr. Ruba decided not to move and chose to quit. Then in the year 2007, Mr. Law Laksa operated again at the THIAN F**K CAFE located in Kenyalang Park. After 2 years, Mr. Ruba's wife has been allowed to do business at MBKS Market Kenyalang until 2015. A few years later, Mr. Law Laksa's stall moved from MBKS Kenyalang Market to MBKS Stutong Market and operated until November 2020. As soon as moving to MBKS Stutong market, laksa stalls are fully managed by Mr. Ruba's wife and the stall has changed its name to "Jomaie Food" where Jomaie is a combination of Mr. Ruba's wife and his mother-in-law. On 16 November 2017, Mr. Ruba has passed away. after few years, His wife decided to quit the business. To continue this tradition and small business, Mr. Ruba's daughter took over and continued this laksa business. 8th Dec 2020, was their soft opening at a new stall located at FOOD DESTINATION CAFE opposite the Vivacity shopping mall. Surprisingly, Mr.Ruba daughter change their laksa from normal laksa to Pattaya Laksa! and they come back with their old business name which is MR.LAW LAKSA. However, this Pattaya Laksa is less popular than Sarawak Laksa. On 09th June 2021, She move to FoodLove Cafe at Jln Song, and bring back their original menu which is Sarawak Laksa! MR.LAW LAKSA may not be known to many, however, this business still operates to this day.
