Tried sweet series? Was given a box of three flavours namely chocolate, cheese, and mango. It's toast bread that is wrapped in a delicate crepe-like egg skin.

I didn't really like it because it's too sweet. I would suggest you to heat it up before eating. It'll elevate the taste a bit.

Will share the savoury version one tomorrow.

Just a quick sharing... Did you know that there's a hidden lane in India Street? A narrow one. Many people would just walk past and not notice it. The older generations will likely know this place but not many younger ones know about it.

It's called the The India Mosque Lane. This is where you can find the oldest Indian mosque in Kuching. Now, they have a new building at the Waterfront Kuching.

Many use it as a shortcut from India Street to Main Bazaar and vice versa. If you're big in size, it might be a bit challenging to get through or you might not be able to get through.

Anyway, how long have you not used this lane? For me, it's been too long that I don't remember when.

Tastynity is no stranger to people in Kuching. We used to eat here last time but not anymore. Economy rice isn't that economy anymore. Only when there's no other option then we'll have it.

I don't remember how much these were but I can say it's not as economical as it used to be. It's been a few weeks. I forgot to post.

What do you usually have here?

A few months back, saw someone eating fish and chips at Petanak Market. Very big portion! So last week we decided to try it out.

It's from Monkey Kitchen, stall 60. We ordered fish and chips (RM18) and a mixed grill (RM28). It's too much for 3 pax. Sharing among 4-5 would be just nice.

At least I've tried it once. It didn't suit our taste buds. However, portions and prices were affordable.

Have you tried them?

Savoury French Toast

All you need is egg, milk, bread, pepper powder, and seasoning powder of your choice. Pan fry with oil or butter. As simple as that. Eat it on its own or make a sandwich out of it with luncheon meat/bacon with lettuce, tomato slices and more! Just be creative.

Once in a blue moon, we just buy takeaway chicken rice from here, Seng Lok Cafe at Jalan Datuk Wee Kheng Chiang. Just located opposite the MBKS Community Hall.

If I'm not mistaken, the cheapest is RM7.50.

Taste? It's chicken rice. I don't know what to say about it. It's chicken rice 🤣 Nothing wrong with it haha! They've been around since the 90s.

Do you come here?

Two Saturday ago... We took the pink bus to Summer Mall at Kota Samarahan from the Open Air Market. Actually, the bus was parked at Electra House. We took the 12.30pm bus thinking that we should be there before 1.30pm.

Oh so wrong! It took about 1 hour and 15 minutes with minimal stops as there were no passengers from other stops. The traffic was not that smooth that day. It might take longer if there are stops along the way. If we were to drive, it would take about half hour from home.

This bus does go to Kuching International Airport but not on the return trip. So, you can take this to the airport from Open Air Market.

We had a very late lunch at the food court. Had white lady, belacan beehoon, and rojak from Stone Ice. Also, beef claypot from Sugarbun (served in a plastic container unless you're having it in the main restaurant downstairs next to the entrance). All the food was not bad. Lastly, before waiting for the bus to return to Kuching, we had vanilla ice cream from Bing Chun.

We took the 4.30pm bus. Traffic was slightly heavy. Another 1 hour and 15 minutes ride back to Kuching. Not many stops too. The driver told us the traffic that day was not as smooth as expected. Took longer time and he got a very short time frame to rest. He even had only 10 minutes to eat his very late lunch before starting to drive back to Kuching.

The fare from Open Air Market to Summer Mall was RM3.90 while the return was RM3.80.

Tried and tested! Which bus next? Haha... You can get more details from BusAsia. My

Because this year's Sarawak government Gawai Open House took place in Amity Venue at Unifor Complex. We decided to try our luck to see whether we could get a parking space. Lucky to find one so we went to join the crowd for the sake of wanting to see the new toilet 😂

The queue was long but we didn't wait too long. We arrived at around 12pm, and got in after 10 minutes. While waiting, some performers were on their way out and managed to take some photos of them 😛

Was surprised that they did serve tuak. Anyway, I didn't try. Queued to get some food. Ok... The presentation on my plate was unappetizing. I just presented the servers with my plate and they scooped the food on my plate. You couldn't control the plating. Those on my plate were edible.

There were containers of kuih jala, kuih ros, and some other festive snacks on the tables for visitors to help themselves. Well... As expected... Some people were thick face enough to tapao the whole container of snack by putting it into their bags 😂

Frankly, the place is quite small for functions like this. Parking was limited too.

Anyway, been there, done that. Left at 1pm. Feedback given to relevant party after attending the event.

Did you go?
