Since its opening in December 2021, Wen's Kitchen has tantalized taste buds with a delectable array of authentic Chetti Melaka and Nyonya cuisine. Nestled in the heart of Melaka, this culinary gem whisks diners away on
a gastronomic journey, seducing their senses with aromatic spices, intricate
flavours, and mouth-watering dishes. From the fiery tang of Kerisek Kulit Timun to the creamy indulgence

of Laok Aram Jada, every plate is a culinary art. With a commitment to preserving tradition and sourcing the finest
ingredients, Wen's Kitchen captures the essence of Chetti Melaka and
Nyonya cuisine, leaves patrons craving more with every unforgettable bite. Chetti Melaka, also known as the Peranakan Hindu community of Melaka, Malaysia, has a rich and unique history that spans six centuries. The Chetti Melaka people are descendants of Tamil and Telugu traders from South India who settled in the port city of Melaka during the 15th century. They intermarried with native women, creating a distinct cultural identity. The Chetti Melaka community played a vital role in the region's trading network, engaging in commerce and acting as intermediaries between Indian, Malay, Kristang , Baba Nyonya and Chinese communities. They preserved their Indian roots while adopting local customs, language, and traditions. Chetti Melaka's cultural heritage is reflected in their unique language, cuisine, clothing, and religious practices. Despite facing challenges, the Chetti Melaka community has successfully maintained its distinct identity and continues contributing to Melaka's multicultural fabric. Today, they are an integral part of Malaysia's diverse society, proudly preserving their heritage while embracing the modern world.
