Hi corn lovers!

How do you look after corn?

1) W**d corn as soon as possible to avoid competing for water and nutrients. Because the corn has shallow roots, avoid deep cultivation.
2) Crowding promotes a lot of silage but no cobs.
3) After pollination, cover corn ears with paper bags to protect them from birds.
4) Inadequate kernel development can be caused by poor pollination, a lack of plants, overcrowding, or a potassium shortage in the soil.
5) If the stalks become purple, there is most certainly a phosphorus deficiency.

Hi guys! Do you know how to grow corn using a container?

Corn can be grown in a container as large as a container, but it is not a good choice for container gardening because it requires a high number of plants for pollination.

In a huge pot that holds five gallons, plant five or six seeds.
Hope it helps anybody that going to start growing corn!

Hi, speckyjagung here!

Do you know the cutworms, wireworms, flea beetles, corn earworms and corn borers are all known to damage corn? How do you handle this? You can handpick and kill pests that you find.

The same goes with an egg laid on silk as it grows, and a little caterpillar follows the thread down into an ear to eat its tips. Place a drop of mineral oil in each ear to smother earworms and prevent them from spreading.

Borers feed by burrowing through the stalks and ears of corn. Control is best achieved by personal selection. The garden should be clean of detritus where earworms and borers can hide.

Corn is also a favourite target for raccoons and other rodents. Pests can be kept out of your yard by using traps or fences.

Hi everyone! The disease usually will be related to humans or animals. But, plants are also living things which today speckygirls will share with you guys specifically on the corn diseases.

Corn is prone to fungus disease s**t and bacterial disease Stewart's wilt. Corn s**t causes kernels to expand and turn grey or black. Destroy afflicted plants and avoid replanting in the same location for two years. S**t spores can live in soil for up to two years.

Stewart's wilt is a bacterial infection transmitted by flea beetles. Stewart's wilt causes yellowing of the leaves and stunting of the plants. Plant disease-resistant types and use wood ash or agricultural lime to suppress flea beetles around plants.

There you go the corn disease!

Hi! For posting today, do you know when to harvest the corn?

1) Corn may be harvested in 60 to 100 days with warm weather.
2) When ears turn dark green, silks turn brown, and kernels are tender and plump, the juice will be milky, not clear.
3) 20 days after silks develop, harvest begins.
4) Twist corn ears downward to pick them.
5) Each corn stalk yields one or two ears.
6) Morning harvesting and cold water soaking maintain sweetness.
