He went to Sydney to study business—but fell in love with food instead. Washing dishes at a Sydney restaurant, he found joy in the kitchen, eventually becoming a chef and discovering his passion for all-day breakfast. Driven by this new dream, he broug

ht that cozy Australian food culture back to his hometown—Miri. He wanted to serve hearty Western meals, great coffee, and the kind of egg dishes that made Sydney mornings unforgettable. In 2014, he opened Piato Bistro—a warm, rustic café where every plate is made with heart. From “Eggcellent Brekkie” to generous dinners, Piato blends Western flavors with Sarawak hospitality. Today, it’s more than a restaurant—it’s a little slice of Sydney, served with a smile.
