Copper Mansion Copper Mansion USJ to a family dinner. What we ordered :

1⃣ Crispy ginger chicken
2️⃣ Steamed tofu prawns
3️⃣ Claypot eggplant & minced pork
4️⃣ Giant grouper slices & wood ear fungus steamed in soy sauce
5️⃣ Sweet & sour pork
6️⃣ Spinach in broth
7️⃣ Thai style pork knuckle

Overall a nice meal & portions are pretty big. Pricier than the average Chinese restaurant but you pay a premium for the ambience. 😁

lunch Chinese restaurant's featuring their all you can eat dimsum!

The dimsum range is pretty OK & taste wise is decent but honestly we prefer Copper Mansion Gino Hotel's in USJ, which is also halal & definitely more generous with their ingredients (like Prawns) 🦐

At RM68++ per pax, better come with at least 6 of you so you have enough tummies to sample the entire range. 😁

day 2 of Chinese New Year eats at home. No CNY dinner is complete without a 'p**n choi' as the star dish, ideally for family meal like this.

The p**n choi, a treasure pot of sorts, is filled with delicacies like abalone, prawns & various other ingredients. 🍲

We got ours from & mom topped up with some veggies and a few of her own dishes - voilà! A feast! 😍

As per tradition we always kick this off... With food! 🍲

Our family reunion dinners are always what I look forward to and my mom always does an amazing job preparing delicious dishes like these. 😍

to a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner last year at Vantador

Not the cheapest menu in town but I have to say you do really get the quality that you paid for. 😍

The specialities here are their wet & dry-aged cuts, particularly the Tomahawk, cooked over a charcoal fire grill. 🤤

We went for the Dry Aged Spanish Veal because that is the smallest cut they have at 600g 😅. So a note to point out that if you're looking to try the other popular cuts, bring another couple with you coz they're at least 1kg & above, prices are charged for the type & weight of the cut. 🥩

But having said that, we're really satisfied with this one. The sear of the steak is superb & the temperature just perfect (we asked for medium). With a steak like this, you don't need any sauce at all, just a simple sprinkle of sea salt & we got the most tender & flavourful piece of steak ever. ❤️❤️❤️

We also like their selection of starters, mains & desserts. The King Prawn capellini is an impressive plate. 🦐

And also big Thanks to Vantador for surprising my wife with a birthday wish written on our very Christmassy dessert. 🎂

Our hunt for food in this far away place led us to this unassuming chicken rice shop in the new village area of Sungai Buloh. 🐔

To our delight, this place serves Ipoh-style poached Chicken with rice or flat noodles and Ipoh nga choy (beansprouts).

Very rarely can you get beansprouts of this quality here in KL - it's stubbier, crunchier & thicker...it was quite satisfying to eat.

Chicken was poach-perfect, that even the breast meat of the chicken was moist.

The fish ball & meat ball are worthy mentions too - it had good texture which means there is a better ratio of meat to flour in there.

When you have all these with their rice, what a combination! Chicken broth infused rice that is fluffy & loose, just rounds up the dishes.

I'd give a perfect 5 star for this! 😍

A simple brunch in Dough & Dolce specialising in sourdough breads. 🥪

There is a nice variety of sandwiches, toasties & sourdough pizzas but we went with only two of their bestsellers:

1⃣ Crab Meat Scrambled Eggs with Chilli Oil on Sourdough Toasts - we love this! Fluffy, eggy scrambled eggs, pieces of crab's claw meat scattered with a touch of spice from the chilli oil, on top of a piece of toast 😍

2️⃣ Birria Tacos - We loved this even more! Tortillas filled with tender stewed beef, guacomole & Cheese, with super flavourful stew dipping makes this a really hearty, satisfying comfort food

Round the meal up with their latte & mocha coffee & its complete. 😊

We were there at around 11am, arriving just in time as the lunch crowd started coming. Take note also that if you're there too early, some lunch options may not be available yet. ⌚

Overall, we enjoyed the food & would love to come back again for more!

One of my favourite Korean fried chicken restaurants. Haven't been here in ages, so this is a

I love it here because the chickens are juicy, the skin are crispy & the fried chicken sauce coatings are just so yummy. More importantly the chicken are a good size. 🐔

We also love their non chicken dishes like the soondubu jiggae & seafood stew which was really flavourful & a great accompaniment with rice! 😍

Keep up the good work Seoulchicken Gizamall . I'll come again soon!

Second food stop in the Highlands area 😋

Dinner in one of the most popular restaurants in Gohtong Jaya is Loong Kee. Even though its a Sunday, it was crowded! Thank God for our advanced booking! 👍

We went mostly for the local specialties. Here's what we ordered :

1⃣ Crispy fried pork belly
2️⃣ Salted Egg French Beans
3️⃣ Steamed eggs - eggs, century eggs and Salted egg mixture
4️⃣ Choy Heong Tofu
5️⃣ Mixed mushrooms stir fry
6️⃣ Sweet & sour pork in a Yam basket

Definitely one of the better restaurants in the area & very crowded too, so better to make a reservation!

to us Literally eating our way through Kampung Bukit Tinggi - Gohtong Jaya - Genting from since last Sunday till Tuesday.

If you think you could escape the crowd by going on a Sunday? Think again...all the restaurants were full in Kampung Bukit Tinggi. 🤯

For our first food stop, we were lucky to be able to get a place here.

Come here to try their signature stir fried egg noodles with the crispy fried pork belly - its really delicious. 🍜

Other than that, try also their local vege specialties like the Tin Chat leaf (said to be good for blood pressure) & the watercress. 🥬

Also, freshwater fishes are also a local specialty dish in the area, we ordered the steamed Silver Catfish (Patin) which was really fleshy & fresh. 🐟
