Not just any tofu, Yi An tofu is made using rejuvelac (made by fermenting and sprouting wheat berries) to have extra gut friendly bacteria and more easily digestible. Fermentation process also unlocks many nutrients in the beans to make them more bioavailable and balanced.

Not only organic tofu artisans, Li Jing is also a good cook! She will be making yong tao foo with her tofu and also serving some cantonese style bihun.

If you have never tried Li Jing's handmade soy milk, this sunday there will be some to grab together with the tofu.

PS. She is also well equipped with TCM knowledge, look for her for a chat! ☺️

過來「Slow Market | Puchong」慢慢品味有機 kampung 榴槤!

我們上週在歡樂農場裡認真的慢慢品味榴槤,發現 wow 原來少林榴槤可以吃出那麼多種風味!一年一度的水果季,急不得,現在是品味當季本地水果最好的時候。

歡樂農場位於 Kedah 的 Lubok buntar 和 Parit Buntar。兩片地都屬於在斜坡上,果園裡有30年至100 年的榴槤樹。還有種本地 (圓屁股)和日式山竹(尖屁股),geli 紅毛丹和 anak sekolah 紅毛丹,dukong,柚子,青檸,香茅,木瓜還有受大眾愛戴的香蕉。少林說他還在kampung 上學的時候,放學不是回家,是先到家裡的果園走走。在果園裡,他可以認出每一顆果樹幾歲,什麼狀況和它的故事。甚至在種滿整百顆山竹的地方匿名為 jalan manggis。可見得少林對種植的passion有多深!

去年在「慢市集」少林水果秒殺。這次大家快快來,慢慢逛哦!當天少林會慢慢現開榴槤,大家可以現場享用或者帶著自己的container 帶走。到時間😊

Last week we got the opportunity to visit Seow Lim at his orchard, Ria Natural Farm Kedah in Lubok Buntar. It was a surprising experience getting to taste his organic kampung durians, all of them tasted different according to their age and which part of land they are grown. We are inspired by his passion and love for tending to his orchard and trees.

While we drove in, he shared that he used to cycle past his house into the orchard after school. He could share the story behind the fruits trees that we saw and he knows how each tree would “taste” like. It really shows how much he is connected to his land.

We sold out all the fruits Seow Lim bought last year for slow market within a few hours. So this time, come earlier to grab some. It’s the best time to enjoy durians, mangosteens and rambutans as they are now in season.

Seow Lim will be opening the durians on the spot, bring your family or a container to takeaway!

為什麼 「毛驢咖喱麵」可以這麼香?!
上一次毛驢夫婦在 justlife tropicana avenue 的慢市集煮咖喱麵的時候,很多位朋友吃了都會問,為什麼可以這麼香?吃得太滿足了!

多看幾眼就知道是毛驢夫婦最佳搭檔的配合之下,才可以做出這樣的味道。一位負責用自家耕種的斑斕老椰壓榨成椰漿,一個堅持用最好的食材調配咖喱熬煮咖喱湯(上次員工餐吃了超多的咖喱鷹嘴豆)。果然自己壓榨的椰漿真的差很多!

包括cendol 和榴槤雪糕都是用自己壓榨的椰漿哦。就是因為毛驢夠「傻」才可以做出這麼暖心的風味,這次大家千萬別錯過毛驢料理!

這次的市集毛驢果園種了至少9 個月的黃梨開始收成了。是我們吃過其中最香的黃梨了,有時候果園裡的動物比果農的手腳還快,所以可以吃到的人真的很幸福😌

市集不提供外帶包裝,有興趣外帶的朋友記得帶自己的餐盒哦!

Why is Mari orchard's curry mee so fragrant? I feel so warm in my tummy after eating it!

We received a lot of good comments during last Slow Market at Justlife TA when Mari Orchard were selling their curry mee. If we look closely, surely it's because of the sincerity of both Mari Orchard husband and wife put into the dishes.

They insist on pressing their own coconut milk from organic pandan coconut grown in their orchard. Their coconut milk really adds a beautiful aroma to the curry mee, cendol and durian ice cream. Although it's much more work, but it's definitely worth the taste!

These days most foods that we eat out probably prioritise on taste but compromise on costing and quality, you can rest assured that the food that you get from Mari Orchard uses only the best real organically grown ingredients. So don't miss out on this heart warming meals this sunday! ☺️

The best pineapples in town are from Mari Orchard, if you haven't tried them they will be some harvests available for this sunday too! It takes at least 9 months to grow the pineapples and sometimes the animals get to them faster than we do. So you can consider yourself blessed if you're able to enjoy them 🍍

Slow Market is making way to Puchong, slowly but surely 🤭
This round, we have invited a total of 11 slow hands to join us. As it is durian season, we have our organic & biodynamic farmer Seow Lim from 欢乐自然农场 Ria Natural Farm coming all the way from Kedah! Fresh whole durians, mangosteens, rambutans and perhaps pomelo will be available that day.

Mivi Garden joins us this round with their biodynamically grown vegetables. We are blessed with abundance of organic dragon fruit in season, come meet our farmers from Mui Acres and have a chat with them!

Probably the only curry mee in town that's made with coconut milk and herbs grown by themselves, and also cendol and durian ice cream. Come earlier before Mari Orchard 毛驢果園 sells out😋

We'll also be having LV-SHI.urbanomad offering their steamed buns and artisanal sauces. Fully organic and plant based slow foods such as ang ku kuih, seri muka, yong tao foo, cantonese bihun, oden, coffee, golden milk latte, Indonesian rendang rice on that day! Come fast and enjoy them slowly ☺️

We believe the intention of making food is also part of nutrition.

A couple of plants• 植男植女•
Kelvin and Ruby are two of the most compassionate people that we have met! Because of their love for animals combined with Ruby’s cravings for desserts, Kelvin R&Ds different vegan and organic dessert recipes.

To us, fully organic and vegan friendly desserts are super hard to come by and challenging to make it good! So we only have great admiration for this couple that does it well.

Due to the bumper harvest from Mui Acres, with the intention of supporting the harvest, they have made an innovative dragon fruit tart for us. Curious how it tastes like? Welcome you to drop by at slow market tmr! ☺️

我們今天在 Ria Natural Farm Kedah 和少林(農夫)採了一些有機紅毛丹和山竹,明天在 slow market 搶鮮售賣!😋

偷偷說,我們今天在果園水果自由,吃到很好吃的kampung 榴槤、山竹、紅毛丹。而且果樹都在斜坡上,海拔比較高;邊吃邊有水流和鳥叫聲做背景交響曲。大家如果想要吃到味道豐富的水果,在店裡看到千萬別錯過!

这次农场探访最大的收获是:

我们总以为要不断管理、控制、改造,事情才会变得更好。但有时候,大自然早已知道答案。当我们愿意放下控制,学会观察、聆听与合作,生命会找到属于自己的平衡。

感谢 Ivan 的分享,也感谢这片土地带给我的启发。

这次有机会探访 Kampung Harvest ,聆听 Ivan Ho 分享他的农场理念,收获非常不一样。认识 Ivan 很多年了,但其实一直没有真正了解他在做什么。Justlife 虽然目前只售卖 Kampung Harvest 的醋。但这次走进农场后,才发现背后有着许多故事,也让我对 Ivan 有了更深一层的认识。

这片土地并不是轻易得来的。Ivan 等待了将近 30 年,才终于获得这个机缘。如今接手这片土地也快 9 年了。刚开始时,他其实很苦恼,因为整片地种满了棕榈树,而他对棕油一直带着一些既定印象,不知道该如何改造这片土地。后来他选择放下自己的执着和偏见,开始重新研究棕榈树的来源与特性。他认为自己不是 Farmer,而是 Ecologist(生态工作者)。

他说:「不要想着改造大自然,而是学习如何与大自然合作。」

在 Ivan 的理念里,多样性(Diversity)是整个生态系统最重要的基础。动物、植物、土壤和微生物彼此合作,才能创造真正平衡的生态。

🌱 牛粪成为天然肥料
🐔 鸡会翻土、吃虫
🍄 微生物和菌丝体(Mycelium)分解枯枝落叶,为土壤制造养分

每个生命都在做自己的工作,不需要太多人为干预。

Ivan 笑说自己是个「很懒的人」。因为仅靠他和一位员工,不可能完成传统农夫所有的工作。与其事事亲力亲为,不如让土地、动物和生态系统发挥它们原本的力量。走进农场时,最让我惊讶的是那种和谐的感觉。虽然农场里养了牛、鸡、鸭、鹅、兔子和狗,但完全闻不到传统农场常有的臭味。动物们主要吃草,以及 Ivan 利用食物残渣和棕油渣发酵两个月制作的饲料,因此排泄物气味很轻。更有趣的是,在牛棚附近几乎看不到苍蝇,反而能看到蜜蜂和蝴蝶在飞舞。整个农场不会让人觉得闷热,反而像走进一座自然森林。

🐝 农场里还有一个让我很期待下次再来的原因——Kelulut 蜜蜂(无刺蜂)。Ivan 的农场里养着超过一百个 Kelulut 蜂巢。这些无刺蜂是生态系统里非常重要的授粉者。虽然农场里并没有大片花海,但蜜蜂依然非常活跃。我一度很好奇它们的食物来源,后来才意识到,真正支撑它们的,是农场里多样的植物、野草、树木,以及那些我们平时不会特别注意的小花小果。也让我体会到,大自然的丰盛未必来自单一种植,而是来自多样性所形成的平衡与互相支持。有时候,看不见的,反而比看得见的更重要。

🐝当天的天气条件不太理想,所以没能进行采蜜作业,有些可惜。但 Ivan 也很热情地邀请我们,下次蜂蜜收成时再回来,让大家亲眼看看 Kelulut 蜂蜜的采收过程。

看着蜜蜂在农场里穿梭,也让我更理解这里为什么能维持如此丰富的生态。每一种生命都有自己的角色,动物、植物、昆虫与微生物彼此协作,共同维持这片土地的平衡与活力。

除了棕榈树,农场里也种植了姜、Black Turmeric(黑姜)、草药和野菜。其中黑姜约 6 个月可采收,而一般姜需要约 1 年。Ivan 也特别强调土地休息的重要性,在采收后会让土地自然恢复约 2 个月,再继续种植。

另外一个让我印象深刻的是 Ivan 农场里的辣椒——真正的「指天椒」🌶️。辣椒全部朝天生长,和我们常见的垂挂式完全不同。虽然看起来很自然,但产量一点都不低,每周大约可收成 6 公斤。为了减少浪费,他也会将部分辣椒制作成 Chili Flakes,让农产品有更多元的用途。这也让我再次感受到,农场里的每一样作物都不是单纯的种植与收成,而是透过观察、加工与循环利用,让土地给予的一切被更完整地珍惜。
