This afternoon, our egg boxes in one of our coops was raided by a monitor lizard!

Our chickens lay their eggs late morning or afternoon and by 3pm I would go down to collect the eggs.

As I was about to enter the coop, I heard a rustling outside and saw a monitor lizard running away. Hoping for the best, I entered the coop only to see every egg in each layer box eaten 😢

Thankfully the lizard was frightened away before it was able to eat the eggs in another coop nearby.

If and when we do capture the culprit, it will be lizard herbal soup for dinner!
